For all the posts in the thread, I'm still waiting for official source that says MAF has bough used Tiger Attack Helis ...

China? Highly unlikely. I could only think of Italy with the 2nd hand Maestrale frigates (supposedly offered to Phil Navy, but last year Phil Govt decided to opt for new ones) or it could be from USA with 2nd hand Oliver Hazard Perry class frigates offered under Foreign Military Sale prog.

I'm more partial to the Italian ships instead.

WTF? The so-called ships from Aussie are destined for MMEA? In time where RMN sorely needed ships to patrol our long coasts, in which many of its assets donated to MMEA no less, MMEA snagged the procurement deal?

And there's not even a hint that USS Denver might be on the offing for the MAF. Go figures, eh ...

Well given his clout anyway, I tend to put Marhalim atleast below Dzirhan in terms of defense procurement news. However at the end of the day, MINDEF still has the last say.

Both Dzirhan and Marhalim are credible sources, but both have also been proven wrong too by way of predicting military acquisition before.

Naahhh, flip flop IS expected from Malaysian ministers. Well back to defence matters, after I'd completed 5 years contract with PSSTLDM since last 2 years back, been thinking whether to join WATANIAH or RELA.

With WATANIAH atleast will be with new experience of being a cannon fodder groundpounder, and the weekend drill culture I'm so familiar with. But RELA offers more flexibility in terms of trainings, promised more 'action' aka PATI raids, maksiat / neighborhood roundups, disaster / emergency relief efforts (aka banjir time) .... basically your round the clock friendly wannabe army militia.

RELA oso got weapons training maaa .... now even got digi-camo oso. Ofkos still wan join WATANIAH, but me weekend oso kana work sumtaim. Private kompeni susah one to get coti lorhhh.

nanti Hr complain, "You ingat dis kompeni bapak you punya?"

Hang, memang ada dengar citer PT Stritex dapat kontrak bekalkan baju digi-camo utk Malaysia .... risau gak igtkan ATM punya, pdhal RELA rupanya ... lega skit hati ni.
