no, we can't see prc base on movie/drama, there a lot high tech equipment can't show in drama/tv. event military movie/drama have to pass military filter any possible leaking "secret". but went you watch there state tv on military news/documentary, sometime can see a lot high-tech equipment, event better than as.

Saab AB (SAABB) fell the most in ten months after Swiss voters rejected a 3.1 billion-franc ($3.5 billion) order for its Gripen fighter jets in a referendum.

The 22-plane contract, which Switzerland awarded 2 1/2 years ago, was opposed by 53.4 percent of voters, the Swiss government in Bern said yesterday. The latest survey ahead of the vote had showed some 51 percent of people opposing the transaction while 44 percent were in favor.

actually Rafale lost tender in Swiss 2 year ago, rafale offer USD 3.0 billion for 22 rafale with 18 single seat + 4 dual seat configuration.

we nothing can compare to china in Military or economy, event our economy depend on china.
orang atas may thinking can military able war with china? or just send them to dead ?
you may know that event china maritime patrol ship size also 5xxx tons, soon 12000 tons maritime ship is coming.

IF MAS sell there plane, if can sell to RMA first

B737 - can covert to MPA or MESA AEW&C...
A330 - can convert to MRTT ....

budget not easy to increase, also easy become politic war ...
for pdrm.
currently we only hv 120,000 police to cover so big size 28 million population , with 8.8 billion budget
Thailand have 270,000 police to cover 70 million population,
Singapore have 40,000 police to cover 5 million with small city.
HK have 70,000 police to cover 7 million size like city.
so ideally we should have at lease around 200,000 police, but cost will increase over 14.0 billion， also need budget build more house, police station, HQ, arm， car, motocycle, transportation, communication. anyway plan to increase to 150,000 polis in 2015/2016.
only hope after 2015 after GST roll out, ... gov got more income.

for Army， u also know, no budget, no military power, and your voice is low in international.
