this thing looks like they just put a tank turret on top of a KIFV chassis
*
It's one of those IFV turned to medium tank thing
One of its feature that it is amphibious (though redesign was directed after two of these sinks), and fiberglass/ceramic armor?

Can't really blame them russian, they're trying to protect their interest in sevastopol, the home of their black sea fleet
In times of uncertainty and till a proper ukraine governing body in place, they cannot lose this vital warm water port

One of those local heavy tactical assault vest, with neck and groin added protection
These would be too cumbersome and heavy for moving around in jungle, deswai LPAV is more preferred

Emergency: A man injured in the blast is brought to a navy hospital in Jakarta. Photo: AFP

QUOTE
One naval serviceman was killed and 71 people were injured on Wednesday when an explosion shattered
an Indonesian naval warehouse stocked with light ammunition, the military's spokesman said.

Iskandar Sitompul also said the blast near the capital Jakarta, on Pondok Dayung island, was believed to
have followed an electrical short-circuit in the building.

The explosion at about 10.30am local time blew apart the warehouse belonging to an elite naval combat force,
spraying victims with shrapnel and pieces of wood and glass.

"Most of them were injured by pieces of wood and glass that pierced them on their cheek, chest and stomach,"
Mr Sitompul said.

The depot is among naval facilities located on a small island a short distance from Jakarta's shoreline.

Mr Sitompul said one of those injured was a civilian.

our subs really cant go for locating the plane ?

No use if got zero clue, surface debris must be spotted first then can zero in possible underwater wreckage spots

And we have a more capable vessel suited for underwater search already deployed,
MV Mega Bakti a SMER (Submarine Escape & Rescue) support vessel

I guess the importance of it is highlighted, but nothing you can do if its not airborne on that crucial time

We just needs a better co-operation between civil ATV and its military counterpart, and maybe more radar sites to close up the blind spots
