Are you sure the price tags usd4.7bil.
As I heard government trying to put it lower from usd2.7bil to a modest usd2.4bil.
they even cancel out uav and back away from essm and nsm as it could cost them over usd3bil.
*
very sure.... which current spec i happy if price $ 2.7 bil or event 3.0 bil, if is true.

As far as I heard it have been capped at usd2.8bil.
And now the whole project cost are estimated around usd2.4bil to usd 2.7bil.

a bit of a let down to me sad.gif , i want nsm
essm no use even though got range up to 50km since most anti ship missile launch by aircraft/ship are beyond that range

and searam just bonus, would love to have it
*
usually ASM flight to attack 10~15 meter above sea level, due earth is circle most naval radar only can see ASM coming around 70km+- distance,so ESSM can intercept at arange 30~60km. if with searam/ram can add last layer protect at 3~8km. Gowind with vl-mica range only 20km, not much hope to intercept ASM, event enemy helicopter can attack at 2xkm . with ESSM our Gowind is near to perfect liao for 3000 tons LCS.

Hmm.. price wise how muchie? If cheaper better buy this for sabah  hmm.gif
*
about 1 million USD, but look point less for RMN used in sabah, due lack of search radar, only have GPS and naval gun.
better getting turkey Ares 125/140/150 FAMB and TOT to local made, Mindef have good relationship with turkey defense company, should be no problem. it look perfect for RMN used in ESScom.

Okay here the info I get on sgpv.

ship displacement around 3100 tons.
the ship will have at least 8 cell vls and have additional buffer space to put up to 24 cell vls.
138crew members.
Decoy launcher contract will be announce in near future.
The design was quite sexy or i should say very sexy indeed though it not yet finalise.
no worry about codad as it uses Raft-Mounted Propulsion System (RMPS) which optimise for asw mission.

Unfortunately we wont get uav such as s-100 as it will be over the cap price tags. sad.gif

First ship will be completed by dec 2018.
current bhic shipyard having major refurbishment.
2 new assembly hall, 3 new hall for panel assembly, 3 keel lines.
by 2020 it will be able to build 3 ship at the same times.
good for the future production lines. thumbup.gif

Too bad I can't get any info on SAM and ASM.
The answer I get sabar yer tunggu dan lihat je lar. vmad.gif
*
seriously thinking, the ship we buy Gowind anti-submarine version is right to as( country)? is we really need anti-sub?
is Gowind is "main" ship for next 20 year, should be Anti-Air Warfare version with powerfull air-defence missile like Aster 15/30 and Herakles radar more right spec for gowind?
from other military fans said it haven't produce yet already most outdated ship, with most low fire power weapon and high price. just get joking by all asean navy. (not said Meko100) not comparable to Formidable ship.

Chinese national feared kidnapped from fish farm by gunmen in Lahad Datu

KOTA KINABALU: A Chinese national is believed to have been kidnapped from a fish farm in Lahad Datu’s Silam, hardly 24-hours after pirates robbed fishermen in waters off Tanjung Labian.

Unofficial reports claimed that gunmen had grabbed the Chinese national identified as Yang Zailin, who is a manager of Wonderful Terrace Sdn Bhd, a company operating a fish farm in the area at about 2.45am on Tuesday.

No further details were available as senior police and Esscom officials were at the scene and conducting follow up operations.

It is believed that the gunmen had fled towards the southern Philippines.

At about 11pm on Sunday, four men in military fatigues robbed a teacher and three of his friends fishing in the waters off Sungai Bilis in Tanjung Labian of their two outboard engines and a pump boat engine.

No one was hurt in the incident and the four were rescued by General Operations Force policemen at about 2am on Monday.

This is the second kidnapping in nearly a month.

On April 2, Chinese tourist Gao Hua Yuan, 29, and a resort worker Marcy Darawan, 40, were snatched from the Singamata Reef Resort in Semporna.

The two are being held by their gunmen demanding ransoms in southern Philippines

I think it's time we pressure the Philippines to weed out this terrorist. We also offer our forces to help hunt down this 'scums'. Put them out of their sorry lives.
If need be, bring in their ally US to help out. Since they like to wage war so much.
*
how many time Philippine internal conflict at Mindanao and sulu also can't solve, no need put hope on Philippines, also dun't put hope in US if no $$$ benefit.

Are you saying the rakyat is paying for the shipyard upgrade? Does the govn have any share in BNS? If the govn have share, it is okay to pump in money as part of additional capital invested but if not, it is not right to use public fund. Any examples of other country govn finance upgrade to private facility at the expense of rakyat?
*
BNS belong to Boustead Holdings Bhd, which is GLC, Angkatan Tabong Angkatan Tentera have majority share.
For defense industry is different from other consumer industry, quantity purchase is low and mostly need customization base one every country requirement, it involved alot top secrete high tech system and equipment which not easy original company make investment in other country, so for small country want to improve/learn they defense industry, local high tech/heavy industry and improve engineer ability usually get TOT(TRANSFER OF TECHNOLOGY) or IP ( intellectual property) via government defense purchase.
Is not only happened in Malaysia, it happens in a lot country in world via defense purchase. you can study military weapon purchase example like Indonesia and Thailand, there buy mostly got some TOT and IP. also can see India make assembly line for su-30mki.
Other big example is Algeria purchase 2 unit (include option 2 unit) Blohm + Voss Meko 200 frigate with huge price usd 2.8 billion, shock in the contract include built a brand new shipyard in Algeria port to future own built other 2 option meko 200, the shipyard also used to maintenance of Meko 200, so it benefit Algeria shipping industry with infrastructure of shipyard.

Imo, we should just focus on getting more cb90s.
if can get up to 60 units for esscom.
Gumdoksuri class also gooding 500tons ship with 40knots should be suitable to operates at sulu sea.
*
Gumdoksuri class good for patrol that area, and cheap too.
for latest development, the kidnap chinese fish farm manager 2 week ago, Esscom said kidnapper using 200hp high power outboard engine at there boat, now we see if 15 feet or less small boot using 200hp outboard engine, it can reach 40~45 knots, that speed on par or faster than our cb90( max speed 40 knot), so that is one reason kidnapper can escape our boot Pursuit. some more Philippine boarder only 20km+-, so left 15 min+- for as to intercept/pursuit.

so i think ESScom also need interceptor can speed reach more than 45 knot, best if Esscom can get few 50~60 knot intercepter boot.

Indonesia opted to built locally the KMC Komando (similar type of design as to the CB90) as it's more cheaper than buying from abroad.

actually this type more like assault ship( send speciall force/army to mission via sea) , not really suit for patrol at sea
and only 35 knot ....
