After I have installed the new ram, the window pop up something stating that the memory has been change and ask me to enter the bios blah blah blah..then once I checked only I realized its only 1066MHz. That's why I am wondering whether they got give me the wrong product or not.

Tell us the exact model number.
Also, I highly doubt that you are getting a 1066MHz RAM nowadays, it already extincted off the market.
Use CPUZ or HWinfo64 to retrieve more information regarding the RAM.
Some old mobo can only run the ram until 1066MHz speed, can't go beyond that (my 3 years old lappy is an example).
If your workstation is far newer than that, then I reckon this as setting problem in your bios, try to adjust it in your bios first.

This is Slot#1 and it is 1333MHz. Another 5 slot? I doubt 1 of your RAM is 1066MHz or setting in BIOS has been changed.

QUOTE(lobster08 @ Jan 9 2014, 05:16 PM) The RAM itself indeed is 1333MHz one, no problem. I think you now need to check bout the maximum RAM speed your CPU and MOBO can support. If indeed more than 1067MHz, then try to tweak around the setting in bios.OK, just found it, indeed your CPU can only support RAM speed up to 1066MHz http://ark.intel.com/products/39720/Intel-...0-GTs-Intel-QPIThis post has been edited by Human10: Jan 9 2014, 06:42 PM
