Was busy putting everything togther and try slapping on my gigabyte g-power pro....crap could fit...the bar just onto of the proc socket was blocking it...dam...was contemplating mutilating the case just after getting it for 2 hours...thought better of it and went back to the stock intel hsf...crap...

Microfly SX-6/BX-6 owners, has anyone here removed the chassis strengthening bar just on top of the socket area? I've attached a pic of the bar and I'm seriously considering having the bit of metal circled in red cut out...what do you guys reckon? Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(kalakatu @ May 31 2007, 04:09 AM) just cut it would do..easier for u to install a big hsf summore.. anyway i can see a lot of scratches on ur psu...must be very fit i guess The PSU was from my Atrix casing then got transfered to a cap ayam casing and then got transfered to this BX-6...lol....so it picked up some battle scars along the way.... Added on May 31, 2007, 11:44 pmThe sunbeam tuniq tower looks fantastico...but if wanna fit it into the microfly bx-6, i'll need to remove the whole strenghtening bar and which also means there goes the hdd mounting...crap This post has been edited by BurgerRI: May 31 2007, 11:44 PM

Finally managed to squash everything i want into the Microfly BX-6....erm, actually only thing missing is a GC..now using onbaord VGa which is pretty crappy.
I had to mildly mutilate the BX-6 chassis slightly to fit in a taller hsf for the proc. happy with the results.

Below are some pics of the mutilation, didnt take pics of the process coz its the first time i used a dremel and was kinda too concentrated on holding it and not accidently cutting something else (like the bottom of the casing which i accidently scratched coz i forget the dremel was still running) Only missing component now is a nice graphics card. But one thing I'm not too happy about is the type of hsf i used, should have used one that blows hot air back towards the rear of the casing instead of down onto the motherboard. Wow...nice casing...butttttt whats the point of having 2 layers? one nice thing i see is the 3 80mm holes for exhaust fans. The display on the front is a nice touch.

So many fans....can create mini tornado inside the lil case...lol
I managed to squash in a the artic cooler 7 inside my bx-6....but had to grind away a lil bit of my northbridge heatsink...
The chassis temps much better now..heat from proc now being expelled out the rear of the casing...but now my pwm gets really really toasty...can hit 110C....crap...

Very nice casing KSL.....noticed that there isnt much clearance between the proc to the bottom of the PSU...wonder if taller HSF's can be mounted there..the layout of the casing looks similar to my P3 casing with the PSU just above the proc...but of course I dont have the 2X120mm fans...

QUOTE(xk2 @ Jul 27 2008, 12:20 PM) @BurgeR1 actualy last time i oso think to take the mobo to put into my system, but i found tat nforce chipset not support dual channel memory? am i correct? Yes it has single channel memory and the memory benchmarks clearly highlights the performance drawback by running single channel...but looking at the price of the mobo which is in the region of rm180 - rm200...i think its definitely worth considering, price wise. Well I'm still doing some more research and comparison before chosing a mobo for my sff setup....
