I think the CD ROM can be any brand as once u open the casing, u can change the CD-ROM drive and add in 2 SATA Hard Disk.

U can find out more from http://hq1.shuttle.com/products_page03.jsp?PLLI=12&PI=78
As for mods, I don't have the time. I have seen ppl mod the case by cutting a square hole in front under the CD-rom drive and fit in a small LCD screen.

Here are some images
user posted image

It uses only one fan at the front ( around 92mm diameter )
user posted image

My only complain is that the Power Supply Unit occasionally gives out a buzzing sound which i find it irritating.

lol, i know we can change the cd-rom into any brand, but i don't think u can eject the drive, see ur eject button on the casing, it's on the right side, all dvd-rw eject button are placed on the bottom liao laugh.gif

SPCR has some coverage of the recent CES show.

The new silverstone SG03 looks interesting. Looks like finally got room (maybe) to add more HDD's.

Edit: OK.... cannot. Still same 2 HDD sad.gif

It's a pity they don't have a pic of the interior

seems SS' let the Sugo grow tall now, with 2 120mm intake ...cool.user posted image but exhaust was move to the rear top casing ...using only 80mm ? the SG03 still reserved the space for their cross fan ... not bad at all user posted image

just my 2 cent...

Found more pics...

I hope it opens up the other way like the TJ08 for ease of installation

As for the limited height for cpu cooler.. Aiyar... who cares about giant towers? Just throw in a NT06 or Orb lor...

Besides.. small systems are really for non-overclocked efficient system ler.

Dimension comparison below.... SG03 has the smallest footprint!!

SG03
200mm (W) x H350mm (H) x D310mm (D)

TJ08
195 mm (W) x 381 mm (H) x 378 mm (D)

SG01
263 mm (W) x 216 mm (H) x 393 mm (D)

ML01
330mm (W) x 98mm (H) x 423mm (D)

Good:

- Smaller than SG01
- Hidden stuff...nothing as vulgar as exposed fan controllers and such.
- 3" bay... would love to hide card reader there
- Extra PCI bracket mounted fan controller (rear top)
- Can mount long VGA.

Bad:

- WTF only 2 HDD??? Why can't they bulat bulat celup the Soldam!!!!
- B@stard child --> TT Armor + Lian Li Si Kentut + Recycled mesh from TJ07
- Could be noisy due to the exposed front.
- The token I-cannot-fit-a-vulgar-huge-gigantic-tower heatsink on it.
- I think I still like the TJ08 better.

OK ok... since I have really NBTD now..

Some info that I digged up earlier on the mythical SG02 which is a SG01 refresh model.... supposed to be cheaper and now rumoured to be dead or something.

Ha when I first saw the SG03, I too thought it looked pretty good, then I saw the interior which has the PSU above the CPU and figured I can't live without a tower HSF either, so like you said, TJ-08 still more interesting. Not to mention cheaper too I think. HDD limitation don't apply to me anyway, I'm fine with single large drive. tongue.gif

As for SG02, the 3.5" bay was remove from the structure and all the USB, 1394, mic..etc all was hidden. The case look more neat than SG01. But lost of 3.5" bay is abit let down ... doh.gif

On the bottom.... which is gonna be a bit of an issue (heat) if run SLI but since we can't get those EVGA boards here. It becomes a non-issue.

Come to think of it...most MATX board only came with 2 sata ports so by right 2 HD bays should be enough unless ur a HDD wh0re like myself

1. Shld not be a problem coz im confident with SUGO ventilation sys, you can also install a cross fan for exhaust.

2. Can't answer, will try on 88GTS next mth when mid-range card available on shelf... unsure.gif
