SSF Sifus...

I need some help...i'm new to SFF...

I would like to build a new PC for entertainment purpose and hook it up to my TV via HDMI...

I need some help in terms of guidance.. where do I start?

Been to Low Yat and the selection of SFF is minimal..

Once I get the SFF casing, what next?

I hope some one can really help me out here...Thanks in advance!

sudha, actually very easy,
but buy a case you like (SFF or HTPC form case), then buy a m-atx mobo,
the rest is the same, GC, CPU, RAM, PSU ...u are good to go...

if u want to watch television or listen to fm, buy a TV-Tuner card smile.gif ho ho

Guys.. Facing a dilemma here. Having a tough choice choosing a SFF case.

Within the price of RM200-300, it seems I have the following choices:
- XQBOX(a.k.a. Microfly, FULL aluminium chassis)
- XCUBE(similar to Microfly in internal structure, but full STEEL chassis)
- Silverstone Sugo SG-02 (I think it's the SG-02F model, full steel as well)

I actually kinda liked the XCUBE, but after finding out it's no longer full aluminium, I no longer think it's a good buy at RM240 retail. It makes the Silverstone SG-02 shine more for only RM59 more, which, includes the 4-slot vented bracket(sold seperately at RM29), which means it's only RM30 more, and the case is so much more sturdy!

If only I could get a microfly replica with an aluminium chassis, xcube's outer housing(the window part), and the xcube's fascia, then it'll be perfect. laugh.gif

So guys(and gals maybe?), should I just go straight for the SG-02F? unsure.gif

id much rather go for the microfly....mainly due to the fact that (aside from being an aluminium case)

1/ it has a removable mobo tray
2/ 120mm rear fan
3/ standard atx PSU

The problem is, it ain't the real microfly i'm talking about, it's so called "XQBOX" made in China.

Last unit available and it's definitely not the colour I like. And, yes, the 120mm rear fan is the main selling point other than the removable tray.

I would really love to have the "perfect(in my POV)" case with the aluminium chassis of the xqbox, steel external shell of the xcube, and the fascia.. well.. anything will do except the full silver one. laugh.gif Although, I guess, the X-Cube's fascia looked kinda good, not to mention having ventilation holes built into it.

Buying 2 of these china made cases to combine into one would be out of the topic as it would really cost too much, might as well get a full alu SG-01

Standard ATX PSU can also be used in the Silverstone Sugo

Although, 1 thing I like with the Sugo is that I can possibly mount a heatsink passively cooled by the PSU fan.

the microfly and xqbox are the same exact chassis just rebranded....so theres no such thing as "real" microfly. people just call it that coz thats the first brand that came out with the case.

even Ultra has one.... quite alot of brands has that case in their product lineup.

Hm.. Well... I really don't like the Silver fascia one from ngbh. And worst part of it, it's the last unit.
