outside i think cheaper.
i guess not much owner here upgraded the HU via Toyota... laugh.gif

I installed this thing in Cheras. Cost about 500 include installation.
- 5 years warranty instead of normally 1 year
- has one button besides the keyhole. So, easier to use. Just press the button to lock instead of putting in the key.

sound more convenient but whats the point if it can be unlock without the key? sweat.gif
mine is a double-lock model...

there's this plug and play port which disable engine startUp when its locked. This means, its not just disable you to press the brake pedal but also engine startup.
*
You have to put the key when unlocking. Only when locking, no key is required.

Is it necessary for a keyless and push-start car to install locktech? How does the locktech work with these kind of cars?
*
You have a valid point. Didn't think about this when install.

Maybe just to have extra security feeling?

as mentioned above, it locks the brake pedal function and disable engine startUp electonically.

even with PushStart function it still wont start.
*

The only way to start the car is by using the remote.
So, in order for someone to start and drive the car, the remote and the key to the above lock must be available.

i think there is no key needed to lock the locktech, just pull the handle of the lock.
the key is for unlocking only.

Is it usable for new vios with start/stop feature? thanks.
*
I would to correct my earlier post regarding the small button.

The button is for safety purpose. Without pressing this switch the lock wont lock itself, in case any accident or impact of the car, the lock wont lock itself.

And the one that I installed is made locally. It's key is anti duplicate.

I used it on the new Vios. The lock has cable that link to the Vios existing cabling.

Finally end up with booking vios E spec. Yesterday survey fiesta. Discount 6k on 2013 model, 3k for 2014 model.
Another model like attrage, almera just survey at the web. Quite satisfied with my own decision. Since not afford to buy high end spec, then buy a medium level as my first car. Lets pray my vios no major and minor problem. Hehe
*
Have you checked out Honda City?
5 years warranty
VSC
Hill assist
8 speakers
6 airbags
Cruise control
Phone control on steering
3 power sockets
2 USB drives
Rear aircond
Bigger rear passenger space
Arm rest
Gear and handbrake position just like new Altis
.....
.....
But then the above is for the highest spec.

Did my 1000km service at Cheras SC using pickup and delivery service. Paid RM20 extra. They came to my office at 10am and sent back my car at 2pm. They washed it also. Very convenient.

Today tested the new Vios fuel usage almost until its limit.
Odometer show 338km. The fuel almost empty and warning light already on. Range or km to go show 16km.
Suddenly, the range display changed from 16 to 0.
Already panic because in heavy jam near Jalan Pudu..
Off aircond and looking for petrol station. Luckily after 3km, found one. Fill up full tank Ron 95,RM70.
Don't know why it changed from 16 to 0 in split second, any idea?

Can Vios steering be replaced with Altis?
I want to have the button to answer phone on the steering. Vios G don't have but Altis have it.

Hello all Sifu~~, I am planning to trade in my old car to get a new Vios.

Still thinking between to get 1.5E or 1.5G specs, any sifu can advise which specs to get and whether the 1.5G spec really worth it?

And any good sales person to recommend me with best rebate + trade in service + all other service? I'm staying in Cheras/KL.
Hope can share with me via PM on the sales person + rebate/cash value that can give to me smile.gif

Hehehe, hope to be a new toyota member soon and join you all~!

Some owners regret with quality of the new Vios due to some reasons. Hope you have considered that.
All the best.

My 2014 Vios G fuel consumption is 9.1km/l.
I am using Caltex 95.
Odometer is about 11000.
Every working day, drive from Ampang to KL and back.
Is it OK?

Toyota Malaysia has upgraded or revamped their website for owners of Toyota vehicles. rclxms.gif
Registered users can see complete details of their vehicle service records, exactly like the printed bill. sad.gif
However, there is no more the Toyota forum where owners can talk anything about Toyota vehicles. perhaps too hot for them to handle complaints ?
check it put at www.mytoyota.com.my.

BTW, off topic a little bit...

If you happen to be living in Shah Alam or Damansara or Klang Valley, you may want to support DASH highway.

Sign the petition at Petition to Support DASH Highway.

If you don't like the highway, it is OK. It is your right too. wink.gif

different branch use different type of engine oil - semi synthetic or fully synthetic. and cost also depends on your odometer - higher KM means higher RM (maintenance cost).
