hie gang, I just booked a black Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo yesterday morning....now cant wait for the car to arrive.... drool.gif

anyway, for those who are still considering to take Vios, please dont hesitate for too long....current offer for this month is really good and tempting....RM6K discount with DVD AVN head unit worth around RM3K (given free for top 2 high end models only) and RM500 cash voucher for all models (u can use this voucher for servicing purpose in future).... rclxm9.gif

almost around 10% discount given from overall pricing if u are taking the top 2 high end models....I dont think its going to get any better than this so for those waiting, please dont wait for too long before the offer is gone..... biggrin.gif

Why there's some member did not get the rm500 cash voucher ? Some of them Bought last month. Weird
*
I heard about the cash voucher RM500 and the free DVD AVN head unit worth RM3K (only for G and TRD Sportivo models) was only launched from this month onwards....as far as I know, I think its only for this month but maybe UMWT will extend it to next month like they did for the RM6K discount which was started from last month.....anyhow, for those still considering to take Vios, dont wait for too long now..... smile.gif

the RM500 cash voucher will not be given to those who bought the Vios, instead will be keyed in into their system.....owners then can use it for servicing their car and the amount due to be paid for the servicing can and will be deducted from the RM500 cash voucher.... rclxms.gif

is Vios a good buy ?
*
compared to Malaysian cars, it is a good buy considering the fact that now there is RM6K discount for any variant....but people need to understand that Vios is a entry level Toyota car just like how City is so dont expect too much from a entry level models....yes, of cos we pay around RM70K to RM90K depending on the variant available but if we want a better class car, then be prepared to pay more for Altis, Camry, Civic or Accord....otherwise, it is fine.....on another note, its not Toyota or Honda's fault to put the car price this high, its the Malaysian government and automotive tax policy's fault.... sad.gif

mine as below, both using semi synthetic
2nd gen, mileage at 33000km, 12.5km/L or 100km/8L
3nd gen, mileage at 3100km, 11.3km/L or 100km/8.85L
*
just so some of us should know, the new Vios is a little bit heavier than the previous generation model therefore we might see some higher FC difference if compared the current Vios with the previous one.... sweat.gif

Hello,  rolleyes.gif

anyone know where and how i can upgrade my ICE... with the new dvd AVN system..

user posted image

will toyota sc do the upgrade or i can go and trade in elsewhere?

*
not sure if previous version of AVN system can be upgraded to latest look (whether software or hardware) or not, the newer type AVN system cost about RM3100....just to share the price tag..... rolleyes.gif

Is this original from Toyota?
*
it is original from Toyota and u will get this for free (almost) as part of current promotion if u take the G spec or the TRD Sportivo Vios....for other models, u have to pay for it.....not mistaken RM3100 or so and not sure if the price already included labor and installation charges.... nod.gif

Thanks Shocker. What about Almera ?
*
Nissan Almera is also another entry level car but from Nissan....for me I suppose its a good car for long run usage but I dont really like the design especially the latest facelift one whereby its more hideous compared to before facelift.....even after put bodykit also still cannot compensate or reduce the ugliness of the design in my opinion....therefore I didnt consider it at all.....for the price, quality and brand name of Nissan I believe its worth it but need to know like Mazda, Nissan also got no good resale value eventhough its brand is from Japan.... rolleyes.gif

but if u are going to use it like for a long run say maybe more than 5 years or so and dont mind the design (inside and out) then by all means go for it....Nissan itself is a good brand with long term quality....u can see a lot of taxis are using Nissan cars as the quality and reliability is there.... icon_rolleyes.gif

I just took delivery of my 2015 Toyota Vios few days ago, 30th July to be correct....took the TRD Sportivo spec as I wanted the sports look of it....till now also no time to take out the plastic coverings on the seat due to working night shift 12 hours a day....morning go back and sleep and evening wake up and go to work.... sweat.gif

so far the car itself is smooth and quiet, sound insulation for the door sides are good enough for me but I think the roof need to improve ler....over here in Penang, it havent rain for about a week or so I cannot really comment so much on it but got time few small branch of a tree outside my house or maybe some bird poop fell on the roof and I noticed the Milo tin sound quite briefly....huhuhu.... sad.gif

I hope Im wrong here but if Im not then I need to consider doing the sound insulation for the roof as I plan to use this car for the next 5 years....if only there is a good sound insulation workshop like our forumers here in Penang, I would have got it done in next few days.... rolleyes.gif

on another note, I noticed a small defect at the rubber seal of the driver side door.....the rubber itself is a bit flakey, like not completely moulded when manufactured.....any idea if SC can change it FOC for me? sweat.gif

I realised there was a scratching sound when I turned on the engine and left the car running in idle mode while wearing my shoes before I go to work earlier....it was just for a while but I need to continue to monitor if occur again or not.... sweat.gif

besides that, the slight worn out of rubber seal at the drivers side door and roof sounding like a tin when raining....no other complains.... rolleyes.gif
