If it's the timing belt do not put lubricant. Use wax instead.

The new Vios is still on timing belt?

If I'm you, I'll get Alza Advanced.

The driving dynamics and build quality is not much different. As for accessories, J is pathetic. What for you pay more to get less.

Do avoid Vios unless you like the new Bold styling design.

If I could reverse time, I'll definitely skip Vios.

Are you saying the new vios of you is no better than alza? That bad huh? What about proton? Would you say you will ditch vios for Preve?

Just saw this thread, Just thinking share some my pass experience with my first gen VIOS about the knocking sound. Hopefully this will help you all. My first gen VIOS do have knocking sound came from the fender (if I not wrong about the name) every time hit by the absorber when go over the hum. The Toyota Sungai Rasak SC help me to rectify this issues by cutting big hole so that the absorber will not hit that plastic again.

Regarding the auto locking, it only happen only to Japanese car. In year 2011, Malaysia have sign agreement between Malaysia automotive and Europe Automotive (ENCAP) compliance. 1 of the rules which effective to new model is about looking system. During side impact of the car, the car lock should be unlock to let rescue team to perform. Since this only happen in Malaysia and they did want to invest to R&D on the lock system, they have disable it. Mean if you lock it, you lock at your own risk. No matter you having VIOS or Camry 2.5V spec also same.

All Continental car remain the same since they have side impact featured. They still will auto lock at certain speed and disengage the lock upon side impact.
Hope this make it clear.

If road bully scold you and you hide inside the car, then he can kick your door really hard to force the lock open?

I assume the RM500 is the service voucher? i dont think this apply to those who book earlier. I've booked mine end of Feb, RM2000 rebate yes but not the service voucher.
*
No service voucher. It's cash discount.
The guy said it's for the "toyota roadshow" starting this week. Well, I think they are targeting the City launching.

I have been doing this since 14 years ago, with 3 cars. Never encounter any aircond problem.

Is it necessary for a keyless and push-start car to install locktech? How does the locktech work with these kind of cars?

as mentioned above, it locks the brake pedal function and disable engine startUp electonically.

even with PushStart function it still wont start.
*
Yes. But the thing is we deliberately chose the keyless model and yet, we have to use the key to unlock the lock. So what's the advantage keyless and push-start?
