btw, did u guys think our car ass will look better with camry alike tail lid spoiler?
*
your car will look better if it has a WIDE BIG ASS.. I would go for wide body kit if I bought the latest facelift.. Concept-Z from Rexxstyling, Zercon from Thailand, but many people said its too heavily armored

Finally managed to install the Toyota Double DIN player from Pioneer.
Installing it was PITA especially unscrewing the bracket holder from the old player.
Sound quality and bass definitely better than the stock player.

The stock speaker for G spec is already good enough to produce the bass and treble.

Streaming BT Audio from my N4 using Google Play Music and equalizer setting turn ON in phone can produce richer deeper bass..  cool.gif  thumbup.gif

The rattling sound at the dashboard is also gone after I install this player.  tongue.gif

hohohohohohohoho

Hi Henry217,
Yes. Lovin the player after going thru ur post and PM.
As for the V panel, what suggestion do you have to change it?  Heard that some ppl wrap it with carbon fiber sticker.
Urs already modified?

Was thinking to buy the Thai spec V Panel before this..
*
plastiDIP it any color you want, their new products will definitely attract you.. New series of Aikka moonlight (glows in the dark) plastiDIP is awesome haha

Heard of plastidip b4,
thought it was use for tire rims only.  If its safe to be use on plastic material, then might consider that options.
*
works on any material, my car almost every part is using plastiDIP, inner door handle, V panel, steering, and also bodykits

Yes, Henry217, care to share?  Do you DIY?
How much does it cost and do they sell in aerosol can?

I will be dipping the whole car very soon, most probably after new year

Plastidip cost around rm60-80 in the trade.

I think Ace Hardware selling as well.
*
I would not recommend plastiDIP brand, its overpriced and overbudget..
get Aikka, I know the dealer in Kepong so I dropped by quite often at his shop for latest and newest product.. I know lots of secrets about new releases brows.gif
Their newest product clear coat plastiDIP is better than plastiDIP brand, you can apply at your car to prevent stone chips just like the 3M protective films, or you can also use it as base coat and apply color plastiDIP on it, its even stronger in terms of elastic (when you want to peel, it won't break) and stone chip damage

pricing wise, each aerosol can is RM38 for normal colors and clear coat gloss effect (A.K.A. base coat)

You can refer to the closest dealer around you from here >> Aikka Facebook page
Video here >> Aikka 9700s clear coat

the player only? my 2006 G spec require entire cover to change from air cond area until below (the controller).. how much would it cost for those things too?
*
I don't know if the connectors are the same through.. you will need to look for 2 din spacing panel..

QUOTE(babygrand123 @ Jan 16 2014, 04:11 AM)
Bro u really pro any photo or step how u DIY the player installation because i intended to DIY also but i scare the socket just doesn't match with my J spec player socket head? please advice
*
its very easy, remove the V-panel, remove the dashboard console cover by pulling it towards you, and then remove the whole aircon + HU panel which has clips all around it, you will reach your HU.. also, you need a antenna converter

walawei! didn't affect performance?
*
in my case.. I upgrade from 14" steel rim J spec to 16"x7.5j, obvious performance drop, but after upgrading my exhaust system to 4-1 2" pipping, it seems like I'm driving like 14".. Now 17"x8j, of course obvious drop again tongue.gif

Hi all sifu, would like to ask any1 experience with vios 08 have this "krek krek" sound from front when passing a speed bump or uneven round. Especially louder when going up a slop, does this cause by faulty absorber?
*
are you able to reproduce it and do a small video record? As for my case I do hear some sound after changing adjustable absorber and at first I thought its the height issue causing tire to hit bodykit, but I've adjusted it high enough now and there's still sound whenever I make a turn on a ground which is slunted.. Have not inspect it with my eyes yet, but I'll soon get a friend to turn my steering while I observe from outside..

I quite surprised! what he did is just heat it up, sort of 'melting' and the black came back? hmm.gif
I would suggest to stick stickers or plastiDIP.. that's what I did to mine too

hi all. thinking of changing rims to 16". so i want to take 195/55 tyre but the kedai said cannot one. better take 195/50, will be more clearance. true ke?
*
go for 205/45 (I remember clearly that 205/50 is quite rare and higher in price) or you can compare the price before you decide..
my previous rim on my Vios is 205/45/R16 16"x7.5j

Is that we can add additional folding mirror circuit when we  press alarm, and i found that no buzzer or siren when alarm is arm

Will it void our warranty ?
*
again I shall highlight it, as long as its a stand alone, plug and play device without the need to cut/peel and short the wires, its fine to go ahead, no warranty voids.. Cheers smile.gif

does all vios' engine got the sound 'tktktktktktktkt' during idle? but not too loud la. mine the 2nd edition.
*
I'm not sure if I can recognize the sound (well I never sit in your car before)
Here's another common sound, start your engine, go in front of your car, hold the front grill and shake your bodykit..
if the sound reproduced, its because of the bodykit not tighted.. If not, sorry I don't know what sound is that

Icic. Happens to all new vios or depends on luck? btw, if I choose to change my headlights to HID, will it void the warranty?
*
If you're a J or E spec owner, please don't be the idiot smile.gif you will give everyone a very bad glare and pissed out everyone

hmm.. so far didn't hear any sounds yet. Maybe I didn't try hard enough. lol.

Yeah. Should be ballast only I think.. so basically anything that involves cutting the wires can or will void the warranty?

Oh yeah. I notice that the water temp signal will stay blue for around 10-20 sec after a cold start. Is it just me or it's normal?
I'm driving the TRD. So should be no problem regarding the glare since it's smoked..  tongue.gif  tongue.gif

*
if you want manual, get manual! I'm driving Vios 2012 J spec AT, 17x8 vossen, zerone hu/lo adjustable 6kg spring rate, 2" exhaust system, higher FC compared with others but I just love my ride!
its the pride you must have, ita your ride after all

QUOTE(wesley8526 @ Mar 14 2014, 06:53 PM)
Hi all, my brother wants to change car and he ask me whether want to exchange my new Vios original 15 inch stock rim to his 17 inch rims & tyres, should I exchange or not...

I drive 50/50 city & highway. My brother's tyres are FALKEN 215/45ZR17 91W.

My concern are:

1 - Cost of changing all 4 tyres (15 inch compare to 17 inch).
3 - Less or more comfortable?
4 - More noisy or not?
2 - Fuel consumption.
5 - Look nicer or not?

And any one here who change to 17 inch rim mind to share a little bit? Thanks.
*
1) definitely a lot more higher, dont look at Michellin, you cant afford at all.. Falken is cheap
2) more stable ride, because, bigger tyre surface area
3) noisy is depends on tyre and sound proof through
4) definitely higher fuel consumption, you need some mods to stable your, power and FC
5) what do you think leh? biggrin.gif
