coz the sound stop every time i use my elbow press the fake snitching area, so wonder if any wire there causing noise

If lidat quite con9lan7fem is the spring seat/bearing issue like xakarix84 mentioned suspension issue. If this shit has been inherited since P42, there are not going to layan you coz even they themselves don't know what is happening. So, we need more people to look into this matter. If we can con9lan7fem all Vios shares the same sickness, we can write to tribunal pengguna & giveToyol some pressure to fix it for us

In this piktar u can see both upper/lower spring seat after removed the whole strut from the front wheelwell.


Here is a inside view, some care the strut bearing are exposed, if I remember VIOS is covered inside the strut mounting. This is the bearing that allow your damper(known as ABSORBER locally) being turn following the lower knuckle when steering action for negotiating turn.

If in the end still kenot solve, we can arrange TT to diagnose individual vehicle. I'll bring along some tool to help up(by not voiding your woranti as priority ofcoz).

Hi chong, since david called me here I try to know more detail about the problem. Your Vios is NCP42 or the 93?

1. Will the sound appear if you start car car and just drive without turning the steering?

2. Does sound only appear when steering input is given?

3. Does the sound appear everytime you come to a stop example like traffic light and move again?

4. Sound only appear when the car move forward or in reverse also?

Here's what you can do at home, get under your car and have a look at the front drive shaft, then look at the inner CV joint rubber boot. See if the boot is wet or covered in grease. If it's wet means the rubber boot tear already and dirt have gone into your CV joint and cause damage to the joint. If no, then your rubber boot is fine.

Now, get another person to drive the car and replicate the same situation as you mentioned and you stand beside the vehicle to listen to the sound and to find out the sound came from which side. Driver side or passenger side.

FYI, the ABS sensor uses a non contact sensor (proximity type) at the wheels to sense the vehicle speed when the car moves and ABS will only cut in when the ABS module detects a sudden reduce in speed of the wheels from the sensor.

Hmm....then as david mentioned do check the front absorber strut. Maybe can try with the bonnet open, put your hand on the top of the strut then get ur bro to input the steering. you will be able to feel a knock if the kruk sound happens. Last time I have a customer with a NCP42 that has a kruk sound is because the spring moved away from the bottom absorber seat when he turn the steering. What I do is put a rubber sleeves over the bottom of the spring seat and re-tighten the bolts. Problem solved. I'm not sure will this solve your problem because can't test your car.

my customer is after turn steering to left side and go back straight got sound. It happens every time for him when he turn left so I don't know for 100% your problem is same with him. Best is to still let the tech that can drive your car to check since I'm giving info via cyber space only. Just trying to help out

according to SC Tech TeamLeader, they're adapting this new brake pedal mechanism called "FreePlay". Its applied since the Camry XV50 model until the current Altis model.

Just drove the car since early Dec2013.... not even 2 months got this kind of funny noises...

I would suspect spring seat as previously mentioned. The simple ah beng way to solve is to sleeve a short piece of garden hose into the end of the spring and plonk it back. Solve the sound once and for all

keep us updated bro, the sound i had was during full turn of steering... e.g. parking or 3-point turn...

happened to be faulty front absorber mountings, changed already under warranty...

yes, its only FOC on labour cost... not the parts cost.

sending mine for second service 5k km tomorrow morning... it will cost RM78... it think this is too cheap; for a semiSyn engine oil...

tomorrow will double check if its SemiSyn or Mineral.

Different people have different expectation on the cabin NvH. I came from Ford Focus hence the bad experience with this new Vios

I would suggest that you take it for a spin before making any decision.
First 3 service is 1k and 5k, then 10k. 1 and 2nd service is using mineral hence 5k. 10k onwards is semi, it should be 10k interval from there on.

Open ur driver side door... Look at dashboard, most right edge, there is a lever to pop your car hood up.

Stabilizer and lower arm bar is 2 different compartment.
