Finally got my N5 back from Japan after a warranty claim.
Here's the story.
1) I bought from Monsh in December and he's able to get me on the early batch albeit the time constraint.
2) Finally, met with him and got my n5, Hooray! (Thanks Monsh for such short period of waiting!) However, thing was not that perfect and my unit was indeed a faulty unit. No matter how hard I tried, laptop just wouldn't connect with my n5. Tried many different methods and drivers. It all failed. (Suspected faulty USB = failed motherboard)
3) Keyed in my number in Google US, they called me back to help me. I tried all methods before calling them, so yeah, they couldn't help but only asking me to send it back to Japan. Emails, calls and their services were good though!
4) Tried sending it back through PosLaju, nope. Phones are considered as prohibited item. They refused to send it back. Asked Monsh for help and FedEx (Is it?) was able to help.
5) Dealing with Google was smooth, Monsh's brother was able to get the replacement unit fast. Quickly he sent it back to me!
6) Reached Malaysia, passed KLIA without a hitch but OH NO, got stuck in local post office's custom! SIRIM was NEEDED although it was a warranty unit!
7) Damn it! I couldn't leave my work, again, Monsh helped me with the cert and he got it within one day, really, I appreciated his help! A lot!
8) Finally (again), got my phone and now, hopefully all is well and it will serve me good!
Psst! If you bought it from overseas, custom told me that, you will need to inform them first about sending one faulty unit back for warranty purpose. Or else, things like mine will happen. By doing so, we can show the proof to them that notification has been given and we will have no problems getting it back. No SIRIM is needed again, I suppose.
So, yeah, big thank you to Monsh for helping! Appreciated it!
