Scratching head for days, may be you guys had more idea than me.
Google Now is on, Google Location Reporting off, location mode = Battery saving. I always go sleep with Wifi off and 2G radio only.

Try freeze or uninstall Qualcomm battery guru and see? It wakes up 4 times as much when compared to Google, which is not good!

I notice Apple like sapphire glass a lot.
First it was their camera lens on the i5, followed by the fingerprint scanner on the 5S.

Maybe 'cause Apple is using it, then everyone thinks ZOMG! APPLE ISH USING IT!!! MUST BE BESTTT!!!!

Sapphire then it isn't glass anymore. Its hardness is higher than glass.

Sapphire can only be cut with diamond (just like diamond must be cut with diamond) and probably sapphire (not so sure about this biggrin.gif ). Imagine how hard can it be? Even sand won't scratch sapphire. That's why many luxury watches use sapphire to cover their watch.

If those SP really uses sapphire, you probably never get scratches. But you must know your phone will last a long time with you if you want to pay the premium to get one else it's not really worth it biggrin.gif

I think eventually DiGi will use both band 3 & 7 too.
Speaking of DiGi's LTE, where the heck is the LTE service for mobile phone???
I've owned 3 devices with front facing camera but never used in in any application. tongue.gif

The odd thing is larger number of Googlers are photography nerds. I wonder why with such interest Google keep releasing Nexus devices with low performing cameras...
I don't expect Android OEM's to release a device that beat Lumia 1020. But at least make a camera that is perform consistently good.

I rather hope Google improve on its panorama and photosphere first. The resolution for panorama and photosphere are far too low. Note 3 utilise almost its full 13 megapixel for panorama, a full panorama pic from Note 3 is over 60 megapixel. The one from Nexus devices I think is just 5 megapixel or so. A pano from Note 3 is more than 20 or 30 MB while one from Nexus devices often just less than 5 MB.

The idea of photosphere is definitely awesome but they really need to improve on the resolution.

many ppl being mislead with those camera manufacturer that playing the psychology with more megapixel mean better photos quality.

in actual, it does not mean so, unless you are a person that always want to crop the photo you take or you want to print a photo at the actual size of that large megapixel you take.

if you view a photo on a Full HD monitor which hv the maximum resolution of 1080 x 1920, a 2MP photo already more than the monitor can show at 100%.
so, even you view a 16MP photo on a Full HD monitor, you still have the same quality as viewing a 2MP photo.
As that is the max the monitor can display.
Unless you have the Ultra HD with 4K resolution of 2160 x 3840 then maybe you need at least 10MP to fully utilize the screen.

stormlcc also mentioned that the size is the main concern with more megapixel. the more megapixel you have with your camera, the bigger the file size.
the bigger the file size mean bigger storage you need and the more time you need to load the photo.

why waste storage, loading time for more megapixel photo that you mostly will only view on yr HP or even on yr TV or PC monitor that is only Full HD size?

Erm... Anyway, you can't deny the truth that Note 3 camera is no slouch (bring 1020/808/DSLR away from this discussion though). Btw, my discussion is not on the camera hardware itself. I know that megapixel count means nothing.

I agree on stormlcc's point but I still hope to have a slightly higher res photosphere and panorama. Possibly adding in a option for us to choose resolution? Sometimes, it just feel like not enough just to take a normal picture because you want to put all the breath-taking scene into one continuous picture. Then, when you can do so, you do it by sacrificing resolution. This is the situation which I hoped Google made its Photosphere and Panorama higher in resolution. No need to par the resolution Note 3 offers but at least double that of current photosphere/panorama will be fine.

Just try to reinterpret your words.  biggrin.gif
Prefer sensor size over megapixel.
Lumia 1020 had significantly larger sensor than average smartphone, then DC, DSLR, full frame, medium format blah blah blah . . . .
*
Even my 5 years old Nokia N82 (7 years old model) has 1/2.5" sensor. That's almost the size of the one in Xperia Z1 and larger than normal smartphone camera sensor (1/3")

But... Old phone means old algorithm. Lose out in processing sad.gif

Anyway, just simply buy one RM300 compact also can win phone camera in many aspects although less feature to play with and not as powerful (processing) as a smartphone.
