QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jan 9 2014, 02:24 AM) KitKat definitely. Well, TouchWiz was never laggy for me. I just don't know how typical Samsung users use their Android devices. I'm on TouchWiz launcher like day 1 of Samsung Android (Galaxy Spica) and it no longer lags since the Galaxy Y. I'm currently on Note 2 and it never lags on me. I even underclocked it to 800MHz and restricted to 1 core out of 4 cores running and undervolted to borderline stability to allow the device run cooler and getting the best battery life out of it. Still doesn't lag. People nowadays: Unsmooth animation = lag rather than slow speeds when changing from 1 homescreen to another |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jan 9 2014, 02:48 AM) My experience was exactly opposite. Helped few friend/colleague to flash custom ROM after they complaint their S3 laggy, of coz after I verified the lag ( not slow, but rather lost of frame rates during animation ) No sir, you got my intentions wrong. In my last line, I was trying to express that the way people define "lag" is wrong.Loss of frame rates during animation? Turn it off. |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jan 9 2014, 06:12 PM) Being an android user with lots of surrounding iPhoners, they usually call me an Apple hater eventhough I've used iPad (lost it due to clumsiness). Sometimes its hard to explain to ppl this one simple question. "Why Android?" My iFruit photography friends said the same thing to me when I used OTG cable + card reader to read my SD card. I just kept silent until I Whatsapped the entire table (we were having lunch) 2 photos I took with my DSLR earlier on (very sharp photo, its impossible for my S3 to take such photos). They straight away diam Exactly. Circumstances would only go worse when you mention the word "Nexus". When ppl trying to ask you why do you choose Nexus? I don't know why that's the most difficult thing I can ever explain about a phone. Prompt updates? ROMs...? Kernels...? Root...? Boot loader...? I would only say, Nexus can customize a lot and can tweak for good battery life. Responses : A. you sure boh...? Samsung cannot meh, also android mar! B. Ohhh.... (Deep down there, I know they don't even understand a thing) C. Cheh. iPhone also can jailbreak mar! One thing about testing out experimental stuff on your phone, When you're trying to do something like keep rebooting to flash and wipe cache and datas. My friends would go like "eh, you sohai, spoil lo! Also don't know wtf you doing." Even mounting a pendrive. He would like "wa! Can put pen drive ar! You don't act pro ar!" They wouldn't understand and kept nagging about what you're doing, calling you a phone geek sometimes. In saying this, I'm not a pro at tech stuffs, but when their Epal Aifon gone into some serious mess, I'm always the one they call first. Being a Android enthusiast can sometimes be "unique"? Wonder anyone else have experiences like mine. The next thing I showed was connecting my 650D to my phone and used it as a liveview to take a group photos, again more jaws fell. I personally think that, iPhone and Android users are pretty much wide across the range. iPhone users are typically business people who doesn't have much time to deal with the technical aspects and is satisfied as long it works as a communication device cum personal assistant (or maybe a little entertainment). iPhone users are catered for people that wants to be flashy but knows nothing about how it works nor they want to know how it works. However, people who opt for Android might be one that is more budget concious or wanted more control (think: Automatic vs Manual transmission; ease vs control debate). As Android phones are generally cheaper and therefore it caters for more people ranging from low income earners to school going kids. They are not phone geeks at all, however they might know how to operate their phone or is more able to utilise what the device is able to provide them. I shall stop here, need to go to work |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jan 10 2014, 10:51 AM) When comes to car, auto for me Sometimes I just don't recommend at all. I'll just tell them, go to Singtel/Starhub/M1 (they have all the latest display sets) and try them out themselves. I don't want to give the wrong advice and ended up being scolded.+1 about Apple's usability, whenever someone come to me about recommendations for smartphone, iPhone always pop out of my mind. Unless he/she is one serious techie. No point recommend androids as they don't really spend much of their time discover the true beauty about android. Instead, they just complain about lags and it somehow complicates their usage sometimes. This is where they start bashing Android and the OEMs and say something like I should have get myself am iPhone. Whatsapp, Facebook and Phone calls only, you take iPhone la. Damn. I feel bad for you man. Back in V3, someone mentioned that there's replacement can be bought on ebay. But it's kinda difficult to replace it. You might need professional help for it. Ahhh. I have one too. Too bulky for my liking. Being a free tech consultant nowadays is hard |

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Jan 10 2014, 11:26 AM) It's not difficult to recommend iPhone to people. There's certain aspect/genes in people, that will use iPhone instead of anything else. someone like girl/boyfriend using, all my friend using, Apple expensive, so I should get it too. Not that complicated. Its like they will blame me for "causing" them to buy the wrong phone as if I pointed a gun at his/her temple and forcing them to spend thousands on a phone that they didn't like. Like what you said above "recommend".Then there's those dont want iPhone, I would recommend them Samsung S4/Note 3/HTC One. Most of people I met, if they dont know Nexus devices, they arent techie person, they would play my Nexus for one or two minutes then gave back to me. If one know about Nexus, most likely they are learning toward it already, so nothing needed to do to convince them further. If they have really tried it themselves, probably it wouldn't happen right? Just like how your friend fiddled with your Nexus before deciding. |

QUOTE(Tsukiyomi001 @ Jan 17 2014, 04:11 PM) Guys, wanna ask something about matte screen protectors That's the property of matte screen protector. It distorts the colour and no matter how sharp is your screen, it will still go blurry.Do you find that matte screen protectors affect the clarity and sharpness of the screen? From my previous experience on Samsung i9000, I find that there will be colour artifacts and reduced sharpness if I put on a matte SP |

I see.and some ppl didnt kena.. so thats wat i m hoping for.. same gambling like sirim here.. QUOTE(tanjinjack @ Jan 21 2014, 03:12 PM) But that means no more Google Now on traffic update right, and potentially more services are affected? If you use Android Device Manager, then it will be totally unusable. If you're using Google based mapping/navi system, you need to turn that on as well. You can toggle it on when you need to be updated for Google Now or using Google Maps rather than leaving it on the whole day. This post has been edited by ((Xa))0102: Jan 21 2014, 03:14 PM |
