QUOTE(RegentCid @ Mar 1 2014, 08:36 AM) Thanks sifu, unfortunately i only have this period for me to go (a 10 days straight holiday)I am in the midst of planning my itinerary, I am planning to buy JR pass which later i will use it to travel from tokyo - nagoya - kyoto - osaka (Tokaido Shinkansen)? unfortunately, the pass is only last for 7 days, my question is cna i use JR pass in tokyo metro or osaka metro? I also plan to stay in Asakusa area, will definitely try the capsule hotel for at least a night. For mt Fuji day trip, any recommendation? plan on 5th May, which most dont operate on 3&4 May. Millions thanks for your advice. |

My recent GW trip: not as crowded as I think, no sardine experience in subway, but earthquake on my Day3.
Day 1 -Reach Haneda at 10:30pm, stay one night in First Cabin at Terminal 1. Day2 -Asakusa area -Ueno Park: National Musuem of Nature and Science -Roppongi Hill: Observation deck and Sky deck -Tokyo Tower: just photo outside. Day3 -Shibuya: Meiji Jingu & Omotoe Sando -Harajuku -Shinjuku: Shopping and Kabukicho. -Dinner at 天ぷら新宿つな八 Day4 -Tsukiji Market -Imperial Palace: register via the link to entry to the palace area http://sankan.kunaicho.go.jp/english/guide/koukyo.html -Ghibli Musuem: buy via JTB Malaysia -Ueno Ameyoko Market: Day5 -Shinkansen to Nagoya -Nagoya Castle -Nagoya City Science Musuem -Osu Kannon Temple & Shopping Arcade -Dinner at まるや 本店 Day6 -Shinkansen to Osaka -Shitennonji Temple -Osaka Castle -Shinsekai -Dinner at - づぼらや Day7 -Kyoto -Fushimi Inari Taisha -Kiyomizu-dera -Ginkakuji -Kinkakuji -Arashiyama Day8 -Nara -Kasuga Taisha Shrine -Todaiji -Kofukuji -Kobe Port Day9 -Momofuku Ando Instant Ramen Museum -Osakaku Station: Aquarium, Ferris Wheel, Santa Maria Ride -Rinku Premium Outlet -To Kansai Airport observation deck and 1:30am fly back Malaysia I am solo traveller, hence you can see my itinerary is a bit rush. I stay in Asakusa for first 2 nights and Ueno Capsule for third night, Eco Hotel Nagoya, and First Cabin at Namba, its all very close to main station. I utilised Tokyo Subway 3 days ticket (For Toei and Metro) in Tokyo, Day pass in Nagoya and first day Osaka, and Kansai Thru Pass for the rest. In Kyoto, you need a lot of luck to get the right time at the right bus stand to rush for all places as listed, maximum waiting for me is 5 minutes in Kyoto, considered very lucky, else I am unable to cover 5 places. you can pm me if u want more info..... |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ May 19 2014, 10:01 PM) Hi thanks for sharing. Impressive, I hope I will be as lucky as you in Kyoto. Tokyo Tower: I took Oedo Line from Roppongi to Akabanebashi station, walk across the road and right side.Do you still remember which station that you alight and depart from for the Tokyo Tower visit? In Nara, you straight away headed to Kasuga Taisha Shrine first? You walked or took the bus? Nara: I reache Nara at about 9am, I walked to KAsuga Taisha Shrine and the Garden beside it. I should have rent a bicycle in Nara. Half a day is about 7km walk in Nara from/to KintetsuNara. |
