Am travelling in a group to Hokkaido this April, either from Osaka or Tokyo. Can someone please quote the time taken by train from Tokyo by shinkassen to Hakodate or Sapporo. Is there an undersea tunnel linking the islands, or bridge ?
I understand that Jetstar flies to Sapporo from Narita. How much does it cost and the time taken. Thank You.

By the way, how do you access v3, v2, etc for info on Japan. ? When is the Golden Week that Regent mentioned ? Hope it does not fall together on our planned trip till the 23 rd April, otherwise difficult to get fairly priced hotels in Tokyo.

Going to Hokkaido end April, but wondering how the weather will be like. Estimate around 3 to 7 deg Celsius ? Taking JR Hokkaido Pass for 3 days, travelling to Hakodate, Otaru, etc.

Will land at Osaka and fly straight to Sapporo, Chitose Airport. spending 6 nights in Hokkaido, hoping to see Sakura flower, eat crab maybe ?

Fly back to Osaka, and then thinking of day trip going to Shirakawa-go, but wondering if worth the trip as long journey. JR Kansai Pass do not cover to Gifu, Nagoya ? Then to Kyoto, Kobe for the remainder 3 nights! Buying 3 days Kansai Thru Pass as recommended by this Forum.

Trip coincides with Golden Week, so hotel prices are very high and limited. Last trip also coincides with Bon Odori during last Raya Puasa !! Always kena peak season !! Stayed at Shinsaibashi area last year, but now price doubled !

Will be going to Hokkaido and Osaka in a couple of days time. Four of us intend to go to Gifu, then Nagoya from Osaka. Will spend a couple of hours there before going back to Osaka. Any attractions not to be missed at these two places ? Shirakawa-go , a bit too far for a day trip.

Thought of going to Takinoue Park and Yubetsu Tulip Park, but found out it is a bit far from Asahikawa. We are using JR Pass, day trip returning to Sapporo. so , changed to Sounkyo instead. Hope it is worth trip to there. In total we will be 10 days and nights in Japan.
