QUOTE(chenster @ Jan 16 2014, 11:42 AM) ohh.. yea.. i think hakone area is more convenient in terms of transportation.. Can recommend me some ryokan with private onsen? all i find so far have public baths only.. i remember seeing travelling program and they have this private onsen + meal and it looks really relaxing.. You can try Tenseien Ryokan - highly recommended by a friend. But unfortunately it's not available during my travel period in March. I've booked Ichinoyu Honkan instead. However, I don't think the kaiseki is those deluxe elite type.

QUOTE(reijikageyama @ Apr 9 2014, 03:16 PM) Apparently queue for Daiwa moves faster than Sushi Dai. Probably that's because they have 2 outlets next to each other and can serve more people at one go. Didn't peek into the size of Sushi Dai. However, when I was there, Daiwa didn't allow my friends to join my slot (we were already queuing) and they were asked to join the queue behind. For me, I don't have super taste buds and I'm sure I couldn't tell the better of Sushi Dai and Daiwa so it wasn't worthwhile to spend 4-5 hours for Sushi Dai. Better off to use the 4 hours and go see Gundam.

QUOTE(tinsze @ Apr 11 2014, 03:50 PM) I am sorry if my question offended you, i have been doing research on the lodging options and found several bnb that is within my budget i just need to know if there is any recommendations from you guys. So now can I ask how cold is the temperature now in tokyo? The temperature listed on wesbite fluctuates from 10 to 20 degree celcius, so how cold is that? Will i need really thick jackets and heat tech? Never been out of malaysia, my bad. The temperatures listed are from the lowest (mid-night) and highest (mid-day). You won't be out in the street that late right? Just take the median will do. When i was there 2 weeks back, the minimum was 7c but it's still ok with just 1 jacket during the day. As you will be extending your trip just in Tokyo, get the Suica pass that allows you to tap in/out of train stations.

QUOTE(dh3x @ Apr 11 2014, 04:04 PM) Hi, Going to Tokyo this June. Will visit Hakone from Shinjuku using the Hakone freepass. Overnight at a ryokan. Next day plan to visit Enoshima+Kamakura and then stay the night at Yokohama. My question on transportation: Do I use the Hakone freepass to go all the way back to Shinjuku on day 2 and go from there to Enoshima+Kamakura...? or is there a better way? Nah, search for you already. http://www.hyperdia.com/en/cgi/en/search.h...ed&sum_target=7Based on the listed route, you don't need to go back to Shinjuku. So i would think it's more economical to exclude the Shinjuku-Hakone-Shinjuku in your Hakone Freepass package and buy the Shinjuku-Hakone bus/train separately.
