Malaysia got the world fastest imigration system. But most malaysian dun want used it.
Malaysian leaving country or back to Malaysia just need slot the passport in machine and scan fingerprint only.

Like go through subway station ticket gate

not talking about Malaysians. talking about foreigners.

for malaysians, immigration and customs don't even bother checking anything.

Malaysia Immigration counter for Foreigners are fast too. If you go any Airport in Malaysia. If got 10 counter 8 counter are for handle foreigners. 2 for Malaysian.

In Malaysia Airport if you saw a very long Q mostly are Malaysian counter. Those Malaysian 90% all dunno how to used that fast lane system.

If talking about slowest, China are the slowest. Super strictly rules and alot of checks stage by stage.

Don Quijote, or simply Donki for locals (ドン。キボテ)

Everything is cheap there... They operated a chain of stores, I visited the one in Shibuya, Ikebukuro, and Akihabara.

They sell nearly everything, electronics, foods and drinks, shirts, cosmetics, even your adult goods.

A pack of kit kat is 256yen, I bought the dark chocolate which is very nice.

A bottle of 1.5 litre EVIAN (note, it is really EVIAN) mineral water is only 162 yen. What a steal.

Thanks for the pointer
Evian is super cheap
No need to lug along this travel essential anymore, can just get it there

Hello all, first time in this thread. Our first trip to japan will be in 2+ weeks time. We have changed so much of our itinerary before landing on to this one.. Thank god for free cancellation at booking.com . Coming in n out from nagoya made it expensive to travel to tokyo n hakone, plus we only had 4 nights stay due to work commitment. We even slashed osaka a few weeks ago n will only concentrate with kyoto n a little bit of nagoya. Itinerary:

Day 1:
Touchdown nagoya n take train to city. Use kintetsu rail wide pass
Buy meguru bus pass for bus trip round nagoya city
Only plan to stop at noritake garden (we like pottery haha)
The rest depending on timing. Dont plan to go to toyota n the likes, perhaps just take some pics only
Train to kyoto, 3 hrs by kintetsu train from nagoya

Day 2:
- Early morning Arashiyama. Take train to Saga Arashiyama n take bus to Adago (sp?) Nenbutsuji temple, then backtrack down to Saga Arashiyama. Plan to visit moss temple, bamboo trail, togetsukyo.. Want to cover the max of arashiyama without breaking our legs n the hassle (n expense) of using bike
- Afternoon, back to kyoto station.. Check in/food
- Head to Teramachi street/arcade for shopping. Wanna check out souvenir shopping, plan to buy washi products (japanese paper) as souvenir. There are a couple of famous washi shops
- Night stay at ryokan, cant believe we will pay almost twice as much than at western style hotel just to sleep on the floor but thats probably the least wxpensive

Day 3:
- signed up for private tea n kimono wearing session. Private coz we have a toddler
- Walk at imperial palace garden area
- Go to kyoto museum of crafts (fureaikan) n kyoto handicraft center if still wanna buy souvenir
- evening will go for gion walking tour
- 2 nights stay at new hankyu kyoto

Day 4:
- morning to kiyomizudera, sannenzaka area
- if sempat, go to kinkakuji
- travel to nagoya, stay at hotel toyoko just very near to airport

Day 5:
- Take morning flight

I hope i will not miss other important attractions. Any advice is appreciated

when i first arrived at KIX the immigration checkpoint was filled with people (almost 400 of them).  i thought it's going to take at least an hour and half, but it only took 30 minutes!  if it's in malaysia..................... sweat.gif

maybe in KLIA will have more efficient counters but LCCT? I've never heard any "efficiency stories" there. fyi for malaysian counters, the "fast lane" system are actually slower than those with officers because the machines DO NOT WORK most of the time.

Are there any nice places to visit in Roppongi during the day time? I checked around and seems like Mori Tower at Roppongi Hills is the only place I'm interested in. I like being in tall buildings.
Is visiting Mori Tower even necessary when I'm already planning to visit Sunshine 60 Observation Deck, Tokyo Skytree and Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building?
There's also Mori Garden, a museum, Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden in Roppongi which I'm not that interested in. Thinking on whether to skip Roppongi all together.

I heard the night life is good but I'll probably spend my night life in Shinjuku since I'm staying there.

All the places you mentioned, I visited all lol.

Tocho is free, so nothing so bad... But although sunny day, it is pretty cloudy so I could not see Mt Fuji.

The same applies to SkyTree, I bought ticket but still the same weather applies. But SkyTree though be prepared to queue and squish around a bit. It is only 2 years old, and knowing this many locales actually still have not visited it yet + touring group.

Roppongi Hills, I went there to meet bro sacwoc for my ticket. That was a rainy day, so I walk along the mall a bit, tour along the garden down to the TV Asahi HQ where I spend quite a bit of time there.

Thanks for the info. For SkyTree I'm planning to reach there earliest in the morning on a weekday to beat the queue. Not sure if that will work though. I just don't want to go there and later being told to come back a few hours later. There are some lucky people who were able to go in immediately or within 30 minutes.

Then I would say not much problem there. There was a long queue and the staff told me around 40 mins est, but I still got in around 25 mins mark.

So yea, that's Japan and not Malaysia lol.

And oh remember to get this

And this if you land in Narita, provided you are up to some carrying.

Osaka namba is one big station. I got lost trying to locate the information center! Just found that it's really a handicap when one doesn't speak jap. Most jap hardly speak a word of English . Thier railway line is comprehensive but yet confusing to foreigners.

Oh yeah definitely.

Since I'll arrive at Henda around midnight, I'm thinking whether to stay at the First Cabin capsule hotel (cost around RM160 a night) at the airport or save up and sleep on the chairs. The capsule hotel looks nice and there are some good reviews. Anyone been there?

im even considering to bring a kick-scooter lol to do into the nature wilderness all around hokkaido

I stayed at the non VIP room before.

I am a light sleeper so it was difficult to sleep (this is my only complain) because the room is not entirely closed. Sleeping on airport chairs may be even worse for me i assume.

The facilities and cleanliness were great. Spotless. Staffs were great too.
