Besides, that is a sony test on a sony phone. Let's just wait and see how the phone fares in real world tests.

It's time to get out of iJail and try Android. I can't think of anything that the iPhone outperforms the Z1 apart from the screen.

I'm jumping from 6.44 inch (Z Ultra) > 5 inch (S4) and now 3.7/3.5 inch (Xperia Neo & iPhone)

Honestly, 5 inch is the best for one hand operation, Z Ultra too big, hard to bring around

This Z1 Compact more attract those small screen user phone to change, haha

But the specs are no where near the top End Z1 Compact.

S4 Mini or Htc Mini's specs is way below the Z1 Compact. Can't compare.

because Sony named this "mini" Z1 "COMPACT" instead of "MINI" due to the specs are 99% the same as Z1, unlike those "minis" whereby the specs are so different from their bigger / premier family member.

Like how they go with these color, not just boring black/white.

They jack up price just like iPhone.

Can't blame them the manufacturers. In the past usually the "mini" phones are normally lower to middle range phones within that price range. So they have to bring down the specs a little to keep the price down. The Z1 Compact is a smalller phone but maintains the high specs for its elder brother the Z1. The only issue is most probably the Z1 Compact will be priced at the higher end level as well. 

They can't do that. Look what happen to Iphone 5C (Cheap). People are not buying. 

Actually, Apple came out with 5C just to boost their sales on 5S. Ppl will think C for ciplak, so will fork out more money to buy 5S.

Anyway, return to Z1 Compact. Seems like Z2 aka Sirius will be announced in MWC in March. So I think Z1 might drop price and hence Z1 Compact pricing might be lower than our expectation.

No pink or gold?

If you keep thinking regret to buy Z1 and better wait for Z2... later when Z2 out, you say wait for price drop. then you will say better wait for Z3.... the waiting game will be forever 

I have a friend think like this.. and he stuck with old phone...  he say want to buy Z... Z ultra... Z1... end up buy Samsung Mega because his phone died and need replacement but not enough money to fork for better phone...

I normally will aim for 1 model, then work for it with some extra ringgit because I know my wife will ask for a new phone too.... 

depends on how u see it... i think the rumored z2 is not really a huge upgrade from z1. a larger screen is not for me. i feel 5" screen is the max for myself. 4.3" is a tad too small... my personal feel is 4.6"/4.7" is perfect la. if the screen size keep increasing like this, i may be looking at z2 compact or other minis next year lo.

what else? maybe dual front speaker? most of the time i keep my phone mute when playing games. and seldom listen to music or watch video...

camera? so far i think the same. 4k video? so far i am only shooting HD video with my z1 and satisfied with it in terms of balance in quality and file size.

design? same...

in fact, i feel that this sirius may not even be z2 at all. seriously not enough improvement over z1 to be it's successor. but let us all wait and see la. so far all rumours only

technology changes very fast nowadays. if u keep chasing new releases, it'll be a never ending pursuit. important is get what u need, not what u want (unless u got lots of money to spare...).

and it's been a norm that so far sony releases 2 flagship per year. if u getting a sony flagship phone, gotta live with it

what to do... for user may think of resale value... as a company, important is to stay ahead of the competition with new product.

well, samsung may have flooded the market and piss off alot of its supporters... but then look at where samsung is now. their strategy works and they are the market leader now in this industry. that's most important of all.

Nothing to regret, want follow, change phone every year or twice a year.

This is current trend, your phone is old after a year or maybe 6 months.
