So, who is Bernardo Silva?

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is Portugal’s most promising talent. He was key as Monaco won their first league title since 2000 and beat City on their way to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

What sort of player is he?

He is more direct than David Silva, but like his new City team-mate, he is skillful, elusive and, at 5ft 8in and 10st, is built like the Spaniard, too.

Where will he fit into the City team?

With Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and Silva, City are well stocked for attacking talent.
Sterling and Sane are unlikely to be sacrificed on the flanks, meaning a move into the No 10 spot is on the cards.

Is this £43m well spent?

Certainly it is a statement of intent by City - Silva had been linked with Manchester United. The blue half of Manchester have scooped the first big deal of the summer. Guardiola has been aware of him for a while, saying before City played Monaco that he had warned his players about Bernardo.

Sergio Aguero: Man City manager Pep Guardiola says striker is not leaving

QUOTE
Striker Sergio Aguero will not leave Manchester City this summer, says manager Pep Guardiola.

The 29-year-old, who has scored 122 Premier League goals, had been linked with a move to champions Chelsea.

Antonio Conte reportedly wanted to sign Aguero as a replacement for out-of-favour Spain forward Diego Costa.

Speaking in the build-up to Thursday's pre-season game against Manchester United in Houston, Guardiola said: "He's our player. He will remain here."

Aguero scored 20 Premier League goals last season but lost his starting place to Gabriel Jesus in February, leading to speculation he may leave.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said at the end of last season that the Argentine's future was "never in doubt".

QUOTE
Manchester City have completed a £27million deal for Real Madrid's Danilo, with the Brazil right-back claiming it has always been his ambition to work under manager Pep Guardiola.
The 26-year-old has signed a five-year deal at the Etihad Stadium and will now join his new new team-mates on the club's pre-season tour of America.
The deal for Danilo, who can play on the left as well as competing with new £54m signing Kyle Walker on the right, is expected to be followed by the arrival of Benjamin Mendy after Monaco accepted a £52m bid.

QUOTE
Kolarov, 31, said of his move to his old club Lazio’s big Italian rivals: “I am extremely happy to be here.

“I will give 100% and more for Roma. My objective is always the same – to win.”

But he revealed his pride and surprise at playing a major role with City for seven years.

He said: “When I came in 2010, honestly, I didn’t expect to play so long.

“Today is the day I have to say goodbye. For me, it’s a very sad day.

“I am proud that I was part of making City the club that it is.”
