Jin Yee,thanks for your regimen..it works well for me to reduce my acne.then i used the elicina cream to reduce the acne scar, but the problem is there are still some dark spots.may i know do u recommend wat brand of whitening product to reduce the dark spots??Thanks..
*
I don't really have any good whitening products to recommend to you as most contains active ingredient which may potentially irritate skin thus lead to further acne.

Use at least SPF15 during daytime and apply elicina at night. The dark spots aka post inflammantory hyperpigmentation shall fade as time goes by.

Anyway, congratulation! wink.gif

Thanks for the advice. I might switch to other skincare after i finish my NeoStrata. What are your recommendations on mild products?

I'm not taking Roaccutane anymore as i don't see the need of taking it. But one thing i noticed is that my T-zone is no longer oily when i was taking Roaccutane. Now after i stopped, it becomes oily again. You have any remedy on this?
*
Try the products recommended under the regimen. The mightly Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser.

You could wash your face more constant with luke warm water and pat dry with towel. Then re-apply BP on acne prone area. This shall help you to minimize 'oily' appearance.

You can use Cetaphil Cleansing bar on your back. Change more clothes. Body acne is mainly due to hormone imbalance.

Some people take birth control pill to prevent acne as it intervene the hormone secretion. However, its not a good long term idea.

QUOTE(leyching @ Dec 28 2010, 02:03 PM)
This is my seventh month following Jinyee’s regime and I can loudly announce that my face is now completely pimple free (except for pimple scars><).

For me, I only use Cetaphil and Panoxyl at night. While in the morning, I use back my usual milk cleanser, toner and super lots moisturiser (because Panoxyl seem to dry my skin tremendously). As my pimples lessen, I reduced the amount of Panoxyl I applied and reducing also the coverage area i apply Panoxyl.

The only problem now is the too-slow-fading pimple scar and the highly unavailability of Panoxyl in the market. I have posted here before that I obtain my Panoxyl from Caring Pharmacy but for the last two months, I am unable to get anymore Panoxyl from every Caring branches in the whole of Klang Valley (in major shopping malls). However, just yesterday, I found Panoxyl again, in Mid Valley Aeon Wellness (in front of Jaya Jusco LG) and I actually bought all three packets they had on the rack:p I don’t know whether you guys have trouble getting your hands of the product but I do so I tend to stock as much as I can^^

Btw, Panoxyl is sold at RM14.90 at Caring Pharmacy (I was told by an employee that Caring no longer carries Panoxyl><) and RM17.XX at Mid Valley Aeon Wellness whereas Cetaphil is available in most Pharmacies.

Good luck everyone!

For me I apply only BP at night after washing my face with Cetaphil. Moisturiser I use only in the morning. But Jinyee recommends applying moisturiser sometime after you have applied BP, no need to rinse off either of them.
*
Congrats for have a pimple free break! Please do continue the regimen as it helps to prevent the formation/ cycle of acne.

Regarding Panxoyl, why not those who are interested write emails to the distributor, if I am not mistaken is Zuelig Pharma. I guest if every each of us send them an email, they might response to us...hopefully..what do you think?

QUOTE(remedy seeker @ Dec 28 2010, 05:11 PM)
Dear Jin Yee,
I am triying out Elicina Plus again last night. I have applied the portion with acne and it tried up just over night. For acne's scar portion, it showed reddish. Is it normal? Please advice. It's been quite some time that never hear from your reply d.
*
Its normal for the initial reddish as Elicina contains AHA aka glycolic acid. Try to apply once per 2 nights, it helps to built up tendency. Once your skin is used to AHA, you will have smooth skin as AHA tends to cleanse up impurities built-up on the epidermis.

And btw, thanks for the blog offer. We need to discuss in details. I sort of need some one to host a website like how Dan hosts his acne.org. Then, we have our own thread to discuss on the issues. As more and more hits to the website, we can justify to certain parties to OEM the BP or Cleanser or etcetera. This helps solve our problem in supplies sourcing.

Thanks.

QUOTE(yikomaru @ Dec 31 2010, 07:33 AM)
21 years old. i start having pimple since 15 or some where around there. at that time i felt really scared and try all sorts of method to cure the pimples. My mum bought me creams, gels, all sorts of expensive stuffs, i even went for alot of the beauty salon. which cost me bucks...

until this year(2010) june i think, i realized something. because i've been suffering stress from my college and i neglected my daily beauty routine. so i kept my set of branded expensive moisturizers and creams....and i ended up using a very cheap branded cleansing tool (those that cost about rm 20 normal cleanser) and a rm14.50 toner lol(i don't wanna mention the brand ,coz doesn't wan people to think i'm promoting). Coz they say if u can't commit and use an expensive product continuously, then don't use it, because you'll waste it or there will not be any effect.

the fact is, the less i care about my face....my pimples seems to cure more.
my face used to fill with redish dots and some scars. Due to my negligence care for my face, my pimples reduced, my scars recovers. (maybe because if we careless, so we tend to not nuke our face)

the condition of my face sort of improved, not to those baby like skin condition, but atleast there's no red dots and scar on my face. I find my skin has whiteheads( i'm not sure if they're white heads or wat), alot of em, and if i don't squeeze them..i doubt anyone would notice them.( because i have to use my hands to stretch my face then only i can see those white dots. where i presume they're oils). So i didn't really bother to treat them.

So i stop using expensive stuffs, and stop to try and treat my face when i notice tiny bits of oil (that's what i do last time, i squeeze em when ever i notice em). And i actually maintained a skin without pimples. healthy or not....i don't know. as far as i know, i don't need to cover here cover there with make up when ever i go out.

i actually made a test. my friend bought a very damn expensive korea mask....which is cocoa ingredient and stuffs......which cost around..rm 100+ . and the person who sold it to my friend say it can cure pimples....and make ur pore small and shyts.....and something like even jolin uses it....lol..

i tried to use it (actually not test la, just tempted to have better skin when he bought it). after 1 week of using it......my face started to have break outs....now my face had become like what it used to be lol....

SO! what i'm trying to say is that....don't push ur skin too hard....if they have pimples...or break outs....leave it there and it will go off...don't try too hard to treat it ( like i did)with all the expensive creams/gels/masks, some time it will make it worse. lol, i'm just sharing my experiences ,maybe it only works on me. cheers
*
This is a classic example for those who have aggravated acne due to skincare products irritation, which was mentioned in early stage of the thread.

Sometimes, the basic and simple way is infact an easier way out. nod.gif

Yes, you are on the right track. They have updated/ refreshed the bottling design. Anyhow, most importantly is the ingredient that remain unchanged and is still effective as it supposed to be.

If you could not get Panoxyl, you can try Benzac 2.5% as alternative (thanks to redbubblegirl to notify me on this alternative) since I understand that its increasingly harder to get Panoxyl

I am a guy here, was searching thru acne solutions and found this thread. Does jinyee's regimen work for guys?

My condition is, both side of my face has acnes and sometimes big one will have pus. After its head popped out I will squeeze it but it will still leave scar.

Even if the acne is cured, new acnes will grow again... It never stop!

I am using some unknown brand introduced by my mum's friend, she said good but seems no effect.

if i use the BP, do I apply on my whole face (including areas without acne) or just on the acne? Thanks
*
Well, allow me to answer your bonus question. The regimen works for most of the people, but not all and I simple canot guarantee its effectiveness due to several individual reasons (i.e.sensitivity towards Benxoyl Peroxide and etc).

As I am aware of that most people got acne due to inappropriate usage of skincare products. It was supposed to help but it turns to be catastrophy.

The regimen promotes basic cleansing + over the counter treatment.

Please have a try as the products involved are within means.

Let me know the result then.

Thanks.

Regards,
Jinyee

**p/s: I did not get any perks from either Cetaphil nor Panoxyl in order to promote their goods. This is a non-profit thread. LOL

I can't find panoxyl, now using benzac 2.5% every night before I sleep.
This is what I do:
morning wake up = Wash, moisturize only
evening (shower) = wash, moisturize
night before sleep = wash, moisturize + benzac 2.5%

The acnes dry up but new ones still keep popping up. Sometimes I sleep quite late (1-2am), is it the reason?

I only apply benzac on affected areas.
*
BP should be applied on acne prone area, regardless the acne has healed or diminished as we want to prevent it from coming back.

If I were you, I will apply BP on the morning session as well, followed by moisturiser.

Hi Jinyee
I intend to use your regime. I have normal to oily skin with acne.
But am thinking of using with Origins zero oil Deep pore cleanser at night. Meaning the Cetaphil cleanser morning and origins cleanser at night.

Plus origins out of trouble twice a week.
Ingredient list at link

Do you think it's okay? Or if its too much?

Appreciate ur reply.

Having read thru 30 pages of ur thread, I think you might say put these aside and stick to the Cetaphil n bp regime, right?
Btw, I use Avene thermal spring water often. Is it okay to go with the regime as moisturizer instead?
*
You see, the skin sometimes get upset with too much skincare products. Imagine those days where there weren't vitamin enriched skin products, the glycerin based cleanser served all the purpose.

The skin has its ability to rejuvenate by itself, well, as you have answered your question, why not lets the skin heal by its own. However, sighting the current environment where pollution is increasing, the diet, lifestyle and etc, the skin might somehow tend to lose its ability to regenerate.

By using Cetaphil and OTC BP shall provide a good platform for the skin to rejuvenate by itself and the outcome has been proven. I cannot guarantee the success as the result may differs from individual to another but the success rate was high thus far.

This is merely a sharing thread where there is no monetary involvement. I do not help Cetaphil to advertise nor I am the marketing staff for Panoxyl and Benzac.

Well, at the end of the day, everyone deserve a nice appearance.

I am just giving you a tinker...

The range of this product may help in normal scars but not acne scars. We have tried this product few years ago and if I can still recalled, they even have a version that carries the shark liver oil.

By the way, Panoxyl 2.5 is discontinued from Malaysia? How sad it is as for sure there are still markets for it and I simply don't understand why the distributor intend to do so.

So, what is the best substitution for PanOxyl??? Is BENZAC a good replacement?

Tough, still finding alternative. Remember on earlier stage we promoted Neutrogena on-the-spot, then it was discontinued, now same faith to panoxyl.

I think within a week can see; even now it's amazing.

No need to apply any cream etc. on my face.

Just Cetaphil alone did it.
The dark marks are slowly fading away.
No harm trying.

I spent almost RM100 on Oxy, T3 pimple, T3 Mycin, Tea Tree Oil and Bio-Oil.
Waste.

Wish I tried Cetaphil sooner  sweat.gif

Did you add in any on-the-spot treatment into your regimen just in case you have occasional break-out?

I still remember when Panoxyl was discontinued in Malaysia, we decided to swap Panoxyl with Benzac. And Benzac was quite difficult to obtain in Malaysia. Therefore I wrote an email to Galderma for a proposal - to combine its Benzac and Cetaphil and sell it as a package since both are Galderma products. The sales will be encouraging.

Galderma did not reply to my proposal and however, when I googled around recently to find out where to get Benzac since you can't find it in major pharmacies anymore, I found the 2 products were sold in package in Australia. Hopefully Galderma could bring it to Malaysia. It will be a good product to share with everyone anyone.

2.5% BP does not remove scars. It prevents new acne to form thus allow the skin to heal by itself.

*
You do not have to wipe off the BP when you want to apply moisturizer, this defeats the purpose of applying BP.

The sequence should be (1)mild cleansing (2)BP (3)moisturiser

You have to wait for the BP to dry up before the moisturizer application.

Unless your skin is sensitive to BP, its a must to apply BP everytime after the mild cleansing.
