I have a question. Anyone know when do our car VSM is at work?
There is one time I had to do an emergency braking on highway and I heard the front left tyre "eeeee" sound. I suppose that my left tyre is lock by braking. But isnt we have ABS to prevent locking? and during braking my car swing to left and right cause of my manoeuvring to avoid an accident. I'm not even sure if the EBD and traction control is at work.

Mine 1.6 was bought at Sep 2013 and insured with tokio marine too. But my sum insured is around RM 72k..

your batch shld be the same as mine. I too suffered the same issue and I had that rectified.
I would like to point out that its is not due to a dirty brake pad. It was due to the brake pad used for our batch contained more steel element, thats why u will hear like steel grinding when u brake.

Go back to the service center, ask them to change a set of brake pad that has more concentration of rubber compared to the current one. If they are unsure of what to do, tell them u wan the brake pad from the latest 2014 batch. Current batch solved the brake grinding problem.

I still heard the grinding noise once a while. But, the likelihood of it happening have reduced a lot. Maybe like once in every 70 emergency brake, or 100.

If really cannot solved, u can tried the service center I went and stop wasting time with the current one.
I went to E-kar service centre at jalan 222 at PJ. Mind u there are 2 hyundai service centre there so dont go the wrong one..

I would like to remind u in case u did not know.
Our car come with 5 yrs warranty but that is for engine only.
Brake and other area is 2 yrs if I remember it correctly..

Wow.. that is high mileage. Mine was bought on Sep 2013 and till date 15,000 km only..

So sorry to hear that current batch still have the same problem.
I went to the SC for the 4th time only to have it resolved. It really tested my patience on this.
I have the same issue on the 'fish tail' effect when cornering but that is ok for me. I just need to time my cornering correctly and it is fine then..
I have fed up going back to SC just to fix the various small issue.
Fyi, I have some other issue eg:
1. Plastic squeezing sound at the black glossy area of gear lever.
2. Wiper is jumping everytime it swipe down. I done polishing and all sort of windscreen cleaning but only to minimize the problem not ratified it.

Hi All, I plan to refurbish/retouch my 2013 elantra HS after 5 years of driving. Anyone know where can I do that and how much it is cost?

I would say after 5 years/60k mileage of usage, there are some ngek ngek sound from inside the cabin (probably due to loose screw) and also knocking sound in the engine. So I wanted to get rid of these annoying noise.

Hi all, I wanted to ask how much is your car voltage after everything (headlights, aircond, stereo, etc) is switched on.. My car get 12.9v, is it low? I asked because my car battery died out after 1.5 years of usage.
