Quick sharing with all Elantra owners here. I learned today that Hyundai service center implement a new policy 2 weeks ago to void car warranty (ALL WARRANTY!!) if the car do not follow recommended maintenance schedule: mileage or date which ever come first. The tolerance for mileage is 1000KM or late by 1 month max. the service center will chopped "VOID" on your service booklet if they found the car do not follow the schedule.

Anyone hear about this?

Regular service should around RM200, some service center might adding optional stuff like engine wash or coolant. So, usually I ask if there is any option service and what is the total cost of the service before I leave my car at service center. smile.gif

The fish tail or swing issue. Any improvement on the new model? It is very annoying. A bit of uneven on the road while you turn will cause you feel like "buang". Even you drive at straight road and run over a patched road will have the same issue. Everytime talked to SA when service my car, the std answer always is "Is like that de lor".... doh.gif

just my 2 cent of input.
I claimed 2 times of back absorber from elantra but fish tail problem persist for 3 years time.
Finally i go for ultra racing bar and seeing great improvement on stability and fish tail issue go away too.
May be you should try for this option too.

Stock absorbers, doesn't matter came from where (Korea/ Malaysia), whatever revision, whatever design they claim, it will not solve your sway issue. This is a fact. Worldwide Elantra/ Avante owner have this issue. Drive your car slowly, and safely, you won't notice this issue. That's the advice from them.

So do not waste time to claim. You felt improvement cause the absorber is new and stiff, once it's settle down with few months of usage, it will be the same.

Also, there are some SC suggest owner add shim plate to the axle/ wheel. Do not waste your money as well.

Lastly, those who keen to solve / improve the driving experience of their Elantra, here's what you can consider:
- Add a rear sway bar/ rear lower link. This will cut down the sway for 50-60%.
- Change your absorbers to sports/ stiffer rating one. This will cut down sway up to 90%.
- Up size your rim/ widen your tyre profile. Cut down the body rolling and possible lesser sway.

You get better understanding watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWlzygAuBf4

Pay attention to the moose test part and you can see the car sway out of line as it goes above 70KM/h. So, drive slow.

my service technician told me many had claim their power-steering part after 3 years.
it's a common issue on elantra MD. Luckily it's under 5 years warranty.
My lovely elantra dont have the problem yet. Is there anyone having the same problem here?
