Refer to your owner manual, or generic guide: http://www.hyundai.com.my/Maintenance.aspx
Price is around there. It is 20K as per manual, this is normal plug only, not iridium.
ATF you should change 60k-80k depends how aggressive your driving is. It also depends how you take care your car. I replaced mine at 40K.
Only 1.8PS is iridium. All other model are not. Maybe they changed it on 2014, but as I aware it's the same for 2012-2013.
No oil that will last forever. You want to stingy on few hundred or waste 20-10k to replace the gearbox?
Check/ use search function, same question asked just few page back.
I suggest you visit Garage Sales section and look for respective salesperson.

I think you get wrong idea from Enghui1988 about the ATF.

It is not that we don't know ATF needs to be change every 20,000-40,000 km but i was told the gearbox is maintenance free and further as for the periodic maintenance table, it shows nothing needs to be done for ATF, not until 200,000km.

So just curious is this just me or anyone else too? I mean isn't this fraud?

I recall during my 70K KM service, the centre already remind me to replace ATF. And a few other owner did mention they replace ATF at similar mileage.
Check with your respective centre. Don't think the "maintenance free" is still valid.

Thanks for showing me your Periodic Maintenance Schedule but is that a photocopy from somewhere else or Is that a revised Periodic Maintenance Schedule?

Because what i have is attached in my owner manual pg25-26, which shows nothing needs to be done to the ATF, not until 200,000km which requires it to be changed. Moreoever i was being told by sale representative that ATF was maintenance free at that particular time.

That is why when i went for my 40,000km service, i was surprise being told that ATF needs to be change. Is this some revised maintenance that Hyundai add in after the car is being delivered to customers?

Maybe you should contact Hyundai Malaysia directly and get a better answer.

Since we are on this, on the manual it says recommended to use Shell engine lubricant. But it was never mention it is mandatory and only brand we can use. Nor using other brand will void the warranty. But seems like everyone just silently accept the sucky Shell oil. doh.gif

I have contacted them about it but they couldn't answer me and just tell me that it is an revised schedule, so if once a while a revised schedule is out and i do not follow will my warranty be void? and also who is paying for the extra services which required by the latest revised schedule?

And as for your comparison, i think it is kinda different as you need to change engine oil any how for each service (and you are just disputing the brand) but for mine i would not need to change ATF so frequently but now there is a revised schedule and i need to comply with it. And if i am not mistaken changing ATF requires 10litres (for flushing), each litres is around RM40 (not including labour).

And for your concerned on the engine lub brand, don't worry about it in the future, as they now have shell lub which has hyundai name printed on it, and you are being force to use it if you want to keep your warranty. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

On spec, ATF is 7.3L. (Written on manual)

In real life you'll need 4L, cause they are not doing a complete flush out. More reason to do frequent ATF replacement.

Still not happy about engine oil. Should not void our warranty by using a better grade and better performance engine oil.

Also the Aircond service also newly added not long ago. It was not required before this. Extra RM100-120 to do it. Going 3rd party very soon. Bye HSDM.

For my service center, they are flushing it out, that is why they need the extra liters to get the old oil out.

As for Engine Oil, Hyundai have been wanting to regularize to use their own brand all this while but couldn't do it until now with the JV with Shell to produce for them, and they claim the particulars is different from the normal Shell packaging. Don't know how true is it until you get to try it.

As for the Aircon Service, are you mentioning the service which needed every 30,000km? Well that is there from the beginning, see the attachment which i provided, No25-it is stated there. Mine is 2013 Owner Manual, how about yours?

By the way, if there is a revised schedule they should also put us on notice, further Hyundai Malaysia website seems to have taken down Elantra's Maintenance Schedule (http://www.hyundai.com.my/Maintenance.aspx), kindly can any owner upload their Periodic Maintenance Schedule from the Owner's Manual for the latest updates. Thanks

how old is your car and which sc did u go to?
*
Still within warranty period and I went to Tayjaya Melaka SC, basically I have been told that it is normal for few models and Elantra is one of them, unless it accumulates water, if its vapor it considers NORMAL to them.

Further been told by Hyundai that, another way is that I can change the headlamps myself and use for 1-2 months, if there is no vapor I can proceed to claim for warranty and Hyundai will reimburse me, in other words claiming vapor is really normal so you change also will have vapor. (Informed that instructions are from Korea)
