Hi guys,

A few months ago, after advice from the service representative at the Bukit Subang 3S Center, they changed my FRONT absorbers for free. I agreed because the swinging made my car unsafe, at least that's what I feel.

A few days after the change, I felt the swinging was less, maybe it was just psychological. But now, I feel that the new absorbers are the same like the old ones. I don't think there's any improvement.

I noticed that there are people in this forum who went to Hyundai and got their FRONT and REAR absorbers changed to KIA MANDO brand and the swinging problem was rectified (at least improved).

A few minuted ago, I called the Bukit Subang 3S and they said that they have never heard of the KIA MANDO brand. Anyway they advised me to come and have my car inspected.

So guys, in the Klang Valley, where can I change the 4 absorbers to KIA MANDO absorbers?

Hi guys,

My right passenger window of my 2013 1.6 Elantra was smashed and I need it replaced. Damn thieves. I need some advice from all of you:

1) Any reliable shop to replace? I live near Subang Airport.

2) What kind of window I need so that it is the same as the stock window?

3) Price range?

Thanks guys.

Last I heard frim Hyundai SC, they quote about RM 280 (if not mistaken) for an elantra to replace its broken window passenger side but at the back). Not sure the quality and brand, but since is quoted by SC (but performed by outsider), so it should be same brand as original and can be cheaper if you find the glass urself from shop outside. But bad part is tinting.

THanks for your reply. Yes, you are right. It costs RM280 + RM60 (labor) at the SC. But..... they can't do it immediately because no stock available.

After surveying around Kg. Baru Subang & Sg. Buloh, I managed to get RM350 for the replacement in Sg. Buloh.

Another headache is to get the window tinted.....

Hi folks, may i know any service center in klang valley manage to complaint and request for replacement for the rear absorber ? I do visit to one of the service center @ puchong to complaint regards the fish tail when cornering but seems like they dont have any solution for me and no action going to do on it.

Bro, I changed my rear absorbers TWICE in less than 2 years. The same problem, rolling or fishtailing or what ever you call it. This problem made my rear tires' thread uneven.

Before I tell my story, I'd like to tell that I am prudent driver, I rarely speed, and most importantly I don't drive like a Malaysian.

The first one I changed them at Sutera Gemilang Hyundai (near Guthrie Highway). Free of charge. But I think the absorbers were worse than the original! So I decided to claim a new set from the same center, but they made lame excuses, such as I wrongly inflated the tires with incorrect pressure! As a person who is meticulous about tire pressure, I always check my tire pressure once a week every time I refuel the car. Then I decided that's the last time I went to the center and never service my car at it ever again.

Then I went to Hyundai Sime Darby Kota Damansara. Made a report about the problem in January 2015. They said they will get back to me but it took them forever to call me back. I called them back to remind them. Then last week I got my rear absorbers changed. The result.....? THE FUCKING SAME.

Since the problem is still there, plus the uneven tire thread caused by the defective absorbers, making my Elantra the worst in terms of riding comfort since I bought my first car (a frigging Ford Aspire 1.3), I have decided that I will never buy a Hyundai from Sime Darby or Inokom ever again.

Guys, I had the "ketak ketak" sound just a week after my 5 year warranty ended.

I went to Glenmarie Service Center, waited for more than 2 hours just to be entertained by the service rep. He told me its gonna cost more than RM100, but I have to pay RM30 first for diagnosis. I replied with a "F U" ( not litetally) and I just left. I swear I won't go there anymore.

Then I went to 2 different workshops near home. One said it was due to the steering motor & its gonna cost around RM2000 for a used one. The other one said it's the steering shaft that costs nearly RM600 to replace.

Then I browsed through the Hyundai Sime Darby website and realized that there was a new service center in Bukit Jelutong. I went there, they resolved the problem by replacing the steering coupling in less than 2 hours for just friggin' RM45!!!!!

No more ketak ketak sound guys. Bukit Jelutong, you are one trustworthy place, at least for now!!!

hows the "ketak ketak" sound happen?  passing road bump or turning steering?

Turning the steering bro. It could happen while you're not moving while turning the steering!
