hi guyz, just service my first 1000 elantra 1.8 yesterday. the funny parts the SA recommend to change coolant and i kena RM390. wow..instead if RM140.

another things he mention to me that make sure service accordingly to mileage stated. lets say next service is 10000, if you exceeded around  10399, the warranty will burst automatically in system. Wah LIOU...this is too much man.

guys, 1.8 nu engine (elantra), the spark plug different from others ke? i just went for major service (20k).. the spark itself cost me RM 160+.. @.@

Suppose to last 100k but according to the hyundai sc iridium plug must change at 60k

During a routine service, a significant crack was found on the  engine overhead cam cover of my Elantra. This had led to oil engine leak. Fortunately this is covered under warranty. I was told it cost RM 500 plus.

I just done my 5K service, 299++. I change to Fully Sync and the SC told me, compulsory to add on 1 cleaning oil put into petrol. cost about 40. (This is new rule from Sime Daby) labour free. any one got this type of experiance?

has anyone changed to iridium spark plugs and K&N air filter when service?

that's great to keep our car protected. unfortunately there is no sierra glow in JB, I had done mine 3 weeks ago in JB for 9H permanent Glass coating at RM1300 (should be much higher than sierra glow,but I think still worth the value), the result is very good, shinny, I had wash the car myself 3 times, it is really easy to wash and dry and still shinning, but just don't know how long it was last, the vendor give me 3 years warranty plus free 5 time car wash at their shop.

I cant remember - one of the Korean brand, but it works very well. Some guy here wanted to change the spring - I dont think it is necessary, because the spring are ok, nothing wrong about it, it is the absorber that is supersoft.

If you read in north american forum - their stock absorber over there is also too soft, thus many change to Kayaba aftermarket.  I called local Kayaba dealer the other day but they told me they dont have full set of aborber for new elantra md model.  If they have i prefer kayaba.

Need some precious advise.... just had a bad accident....... a moment after that, towman non stop harassing with their own convincing words that im very confused now.... just had my car towed to park at my office at this moment...

A question is that ..... how do I check if this particular workshop are Hyundai authorised or if this workshop are using genuine Hyundai parts....?? I'm from Klang area....

As my car are just 1.5years old.... will it void my warranty after the repair...??
A bad experience....but it proves one thing. Elantra. .... are a very very very safe car.... got into sandwich front and back..... and during the collision from back, it's just felt like a slight bang..... but the car at the back ended up with a broken radiator and flat tyre.... really thanks god....

Recently service in Hyundai glenmarie and there's a guy calling from there saying my front brake pads are very thin and it cost 300 bucks for each side.
So I went outside and change but then I noticed my brake pads aren't thin at all.
So did Hyundai glenmarie just cheated me?

Hi guys, I just DIY change my 7 year old Elantra fuel filter, only clocking 78K. To my horror, the filter looks absolute black!!!

So, I think you should change the fuel filter at least at 50K. Not really sure when SC change fuel filter as I stop
servicing with them four years ago.

If you have some skills in car maintenance, I’d say this is pretty easy. I did this when the tank was low (one bar) to reduce risk. Petrol is quite dangerous and you need to bear that in your mind.

There is one youtube about this DIY on Elantra but I think the filter model a bit differ. Otherwise the steps are the same.



I bought this long time ago from SC because it was cheap that time (offer). You can get this from Lazada RM60-RM100
