hi gals....do any of you use menstrual cups? where did you get them and what brand do u use? I am currently using tampon and would like to convert to menstrual cups... Googled about it it said it can use up to 12hours and can be reuse again after sterile it with boiled water...

I'm using. I've shared my experience somewhere here before. Can search it up. Highly recommended if you don't find you grossing out with your own blood and is fine putting fingers in to dig it out.

Search tinytapir. It's a store in bangsar. Bought my first mooncup from them online and recently walk in to their shop to get another 2 Meluna cups. Have been using for more than 2 years already.

hmmm..this is something new to me... won't it feel uncomfortable since it's in all the time? looks kinda huge to me. so basically it's like a tampon, but instead of soaking the blood, this one contain it. and when it's full you pull it out and pour it? how do you know if it's full?

Actually, compared to tampon, I don't feel the cup at all. Tampons actually dry out the area so I feel more uncomfortable with tampons most of the time. Only thing is that menstrual cups has a higher percentage of leaking compared to tampons, so if I'm going to be running about busy doing things, I usually opt for tampon on my heavy days.

When it's full, it'll start to leak a little. I always wear panty liner with it in case it leaks. For me, I use cups the most after the first 2 days and that's when I'm not as heavy flow, so it usually isnt full when I empty it twice a day.

yeah, I've thought of the leaking part too. Since if it's tampon, one of the indication is the string itself will be bloody.

So I guess cups are useful when your period is not that heavy anymore as you can save tampons + pads.

I'm kinda curious to try it out but scared a little hahaha. The idea of putting it inside!!

Actually this one you can feel like got air coming out. Cause it uses pressure to hold the cup in place, when the cup gets fills up, the air has to go somewhere. That's my theory la, but I also not sure when I feel got air coming out and like a little wet, then I'll go check if it's leaking or not.

Yup. Can save on pads and tampons. Especially for some like me, my 3rd and 4th day usually almost nothing, then 5th day continue with some light bleeding. So I just wear the cup and clean it twice a day. Sometimes I forget that I'm even on my period, that's how comfortable it is for me. I can never ignore the fact that I have a tampon inside me lol. It also doesn't dries out like a tampon does when the flow is not heavy.

There are different sizes, get the smallest one first and try try. Takes some time to get used to it. I almost gave up when it kept leaking cause didn't insert properly. There's a livejournal website on menstrual cups with lots of info, maybe you can google it up, read a little and decide again whether it's for you or not

It doesn't hurt?? I am very interested in trying it but erm.... I'm still a virgin and haven't use a tampon before.. so it's very small there. Wondering if it's suitable for virgins...

Hurt can be subjective. If it hurts, there got to be a reason why it's hurting.

Still a virgin too and never tried tampons until recently I decided to give it a shot. After so many tries, I finally managed to insert it inside, and it did hurt a bit but I took it out after few hours bcoz it was so itchy! IMO, I think you need to be really relaxed before inserting it inside.

Omg D: I can't even put 1 finger inside lol. Looking at that cup size is really scary .

Itchy? Did you give it another try? Maybe you are allergic to it.

Hello! I am also another cup user! I think we really need to push this idea to everyone. The cup is like a saver!!! Tried intro-ing to my friends but they are too irked out.

Not many females in this country are comfortable with the idea. Nothing much we can do about that until they are willing to give it a try for themselves.

google some info on it and i have 1 question.

basically you take out the cup, dispose the blood and wash it and insert back right?
what if you're outside at that time? use the hose in the toilet to wash it?

I've read that some use tissue to clean it.
I just do it at home. Lucky thing my office has private toilets so it's clean, but I hardly change it at office also.
