After taking into consideration the lengthy explanation given by jose,it appears the decision to offload mata was deliberated upon by a committee,which points to the fact that there is now an open and healthy discussion between the board and manager. Although not necessarily a decision i agree with,this newfound 'relationship' between both parties actually bodes well for our future,because it basically prevents anyone from vetoing the other,especially when it comes to major decisions such as these.

The board analysed the potential financial windfall,the huge loss which was posted recently (£50 mil!) and decided we had to do something about it sooner rather than later. It was a calculative and 'cruel' decision which seemingly brushed aside the majority of uproar among the fans,but one they felt had to be made for the good of the club. Fair enough.

Know what i think?this is a hole we've basically dug ourselves into after years of lavish spending. We delayed addressing the 'threat' of FFP rules and continued to stretch our purchasing power,and in the end juan mata was the unfortunate fallguy. Same player,different era,and things could have panned out very differently.

You don't need much more proof than trying to recall when was the last time we sold a top key player (or in this case, squad member) who was in his peak,with relatively zero issues from injury to attitude. I can only hope this serves as a lesson to the club to be more prudent in its financial dealings or else we will be a 'selling club' before you know it, and the consequences will be severe, with episodes like this becoming a regular occurrence.

40 mil for mata is a bargain.

These transfer is very financial risky for MU.
If MU failed to reach cl for next season it would be a huge disaster considering the amount of potential profit will be cut down.
also it is not lile MU is lacking of No10 type of playmaker.
it still puzzle me does MU really need mata.

i just hope he will never see bench anymore hahaha or else his quest for transfer seems pointless.
