says who? Mou rejected loan offers and promoted him to first team.
surely Mou wants to push him further more.
if we're not giving out chances for our young player of the year..thn i dont see the nonsense hoo haa abt "chelsea never give chance to youngsters"

don't forget, the same 'procedure' was performed on KDB, when dortmund came calling and jose promptly turned them down. KDB was pushed further alright. straight out the door. sweat.gif

i'm still trying to make sense as to what really happened between those two, and now mata's on the verge of leaving. it would be REALLY interesting to get their accounts of what really happened from day one.. hmm.gif

After taking into consideration the lengthy explanation given by jose,it appears the decision to offload mata was deliberated upon by a committee, which points to the fact that there is now an open and healthy discussion between the board and manager. Although not necessarily a decision i agree with, this newfound 'relationship' between both parties actually bodes well for our future, because it basically prevents anyone from vetoing the other, especially when it comes to major decisions such as these.

The board analysed the potential financial windfall, the huge loss which was posted recently (£50 mil!) and decided we had to do something about it sooner rather than later. It was a calculative and 'cruel' decision which seemingly brushed aside the majority of uproar among the fans, but one they felt had to be made for the good of the club. Fair enough.

Know what i think?this is a hole we've basically dug ourselves into after years of lavish spending. We delayed addressing the 'threat' of FFP rules and continued to stretch our purchasing power, and in the end juan mata was the unfortunate fallguy. Same player, different era,and things could have panned out very differently.

You don't need much more proof than trying to recall when was the last time we sold a top key player (or in this case, squad member) who was in his peak, with relatively zero issues from injury to attitude. I can only hope this serves as a lesson to the club to be more prudent in its financial dealings or else we will be a 'selling club' before you know it, and the consequences will be severe, with episodes like this becoming a regular occurrence.

Change starts now.Cfc gets with the program or gets left behind.I'm going with the former!

agree with the bold part exactly, with so much spending chelsea needed to offload some1 at some point and mata is the most dispensable one at the moment...from a business pov, 40 mil for some1 mou doesnt put to play that much is a very damn good deal

Yep we have to reign it in,or else we'll be in huge trouble. Surprised utd are willing to part with that much money but it shows u guys are actually quite loaded atm sweat.gif

Believe me though,if moyes gives him regular playing time, you'll soon realise he's worth every penny. Fantastic purchase in terms of strengthening ur team, but I guess its also subject to the manager utilising him effectively. Its a damn good deal for u guys as well, has to be said.honestly believe mata's capable of having a big influence in dragging u up the table. Wenger's and pellegrini's annoyance tells u enough imo laugh.gif
