Anybody here have rental income? Do you engage any real estate agent to manage your property or to collect rental? Is the management fee paid to the real estate agent deductible against the rental income?

QUOTE(PJusa @ Oct 10 2014, 01:40 PM) from the pptpm link if you look at Q14 it says no additional deposit no tax deduction right? that's why i am asking. nowhere does it mention the dividend. the last years i always deposit the max. tax deductable amount so i cam getting quite a bit of interest by now (almost 1k for this year). so i am unsure if i can simply deposit 5,xxx and claim 6,000 due to interest pushing the total placement in excess of 6,000 RM or if i need to place 6,000 myself for 6k deduction. shall call hasil or ptptn to clarify. Dividend should not be counted.Same as EPF. We are entitled to RM6k EPF relief. The relief is based only from your fresh contribution. Not inclusive of the EPF dividend. |

I paid medical insurance for my parents. Can I claim the premium as income tax relief? Or maybe claim relief as parents medical expenses?

QUOTE(stacko @ Apr 22 2015, 05:43 PM) I worked in a small company taking care of everything, so I can cut more PCB from my salary than required for myself. For all previous years, after submitting my returns in April, I will normally get the reimbursements in May or June. It's like getting a small bonus in the middle of the year although essentially it's my own money. Last year I received this notification too. But they never audited me. I received my refund in less than 2 months. This year I submitted early April and hoping for the same. Unfortunately just received a letter from LHDN informing that they will KIV my reimbursements for 3 months with the possibility of conducting an audit. My records are pretty beautiful, with increasing tax every year while my relief are fairly consistent without any spikes. I claim truthfully without any abuse. It just make me wonder that the government has no money that they have to find ways to delay reimbursements. They could have reimbursed me, and if they can find any fault with my returns, by all means they can fine me. This year, I received the refund in less than 3 weeks. |
