i just submit back the BE form 2009 with EA form, the officer verify back all the figure and i got extra tax paid. hopefully able to offset with the penalty, the officer just ask me to wait for letter if there is penalty need to paid. Normally first time able to waive the penalty.

Hey guys..i wanted to ask.. my father is now 57 years old and he has retired from working since last year (2013). At early this year, he did received Borang B from the inland revenue for him to fill up. But since he's already in his retirement and he has no source of income, so he didn't fill up the form and just ignore it.

Today, he received a letter saying that LHDN will take action to sue him for failing to submit his borang B before due date and he will need to pay some compound(didnt state how much).

My question is, when my dad reached retirement age, does he required to fill up any specific form for retirement or we have to write letter stating that my dad has retired so dun charge him income tax? or is it when the age gone pass 55, he will automatically be exempted from income tax?
*
I think need to inform LHDN that your dad has retired (maybe write letter) & just send back blank form (without filling anything).

u know right some is still working after 55 or even past 60yo icon_rolleyes.gif so LHDN don't simply exempted those 55 above from income tax.

anyway, try to nego with LHDN officer. maybe can reduce the fine

Just put RM1800 under Medical.

How much tax can you save on top of the extra RM600, assuming you are on the 25% bracket? Common sense.
*
+100

juz can "save" few $$ only tongue.gif

Hi David,

Which section we can key in the rental income expenses?  Or do we just declare net rental i.e. total rental received less expenses pertaining to rental?

Thanks.
*
I don't think have rental income expenses hmm.gif juz put net rental income icon_rolleyes.gif

Looks like a lot of people trying to cheat in income tax relief.
I'm 1 of such person also laugh.gif
But something to do that can avoid being audited :
1. do not put maximum amount
2. to adjust in the way such that you still have to pay them some money
3. do not simply claim

nice one laugh.gif rclxms.gif
