i have this "Tunggakan Cukai Termasuk Ansuran Sehingga 15/02/2015" deducting additional money after my "LEBIHAN BAYARAN" and it sums to "LEBIHAN BAYARAN TERKINI"

so... why is there a further deduction after assessment? first time experiencing this.

I have submit both my and my wife form on 6-Apr, both received refund by 6-May, 1 month sharp sharp.

For my wife submission, I face a strange issue. Based on calculation, the refund is X. Inside the submission slip, it show below:

.
.
Lebihan Bayaran                                RM X
Lebihan Bayaran Sehingga 15/02/2015 RM 131.00
Lebihan Bayaran Terkini                      RM (X+131)
Ultimately, now they refund amount X to my wife, what is that RM131 for, anyone got idea??? rclxub.gif

i'm single, no wife.

all i know is that they deducted X amount from my over paid pcb. what the fuck.

2 years ago, i owned lhdn "X" amount of money according to my tax ledger.
when i submit tax returned, i was entitled to some refund in that year filing.
lhdn at the time deducted "X" and refund the balance to me (the refund amt in my tax filing is > "X" amount)

as for this year, lhdn owned me "Y" amount of money according to my tax ledger b'cos my appeal against the fine was partially successful.
simlar, my entitled to some refund in my this year tax filing.
however, lhdn only refund the amount of refund in my current year tax return and this "Y" amount remain appeared in my tax ledger as it is. doh.gif

sigh so confusing doh.gif

the worse part is the date, 15/02/2015.
to me, NOTHING to do with my 2014 tax also doh.gif

i illustrated with example, hope it is clearer...this are example only.

year 2012

tax ledger: i owned ihdn RM500 due to penalty for late submission
tax filing of 2012: i entitled to get refund of RM1,000 for the year 2012

so, at the end, lhdn refund the RM500 to me (RM1,000 - RM500)
tax ledger balance become zero.
year 2014

tax ledger: lhdn owned me RM200 because they reduce the amount of penalty impose earlier
tax filing of 2014: i entitled to get refund of RM1,000 for the year 2014 filing.

at the edn, lhdn refunded 1,000 back to me only.
the RM200 remain in tax ledger and they do nothing about it.

the figure above is only illustrative.

i see.

however afaik lhdn/myself don't owe each other anything.
it would be nice if this "ledger" thingy is being communicated more clearer sad.gif

calling them also does jack shit as the line is forever engaged/busy

u can pay them a visit.
but my experience with them is that they can be nasty....dig back our old records and check if there anything wrong in past records, late submission etc....so, no easy to get money back from them but depends on which officer that u deal with. sweat.gif
*
so, overall better to just lose that hundred ish, than to deal with potential hassle la? unsure.gif

Suggest that its better to deal with your employer and inform them to pay less tax deduction on your behalf (most will have some form of Monthly Tax Deduction form you can fill). Requires you waiting a year, but then at the end of the year LHDN won't owe you money and hence you can contra the ledger amount from what you're supposed to pay them.

thanks for the info bro, i'll look into that option thumbup.gif

i merely related back to my experiences.
who knows that i was the only unlucky one or
ending up as u are the only lucky one.

what i am trying to say is that u have to be careful in dealing with lhdn officer.

if we have lots of outstanding money owing by lhdn in our tax ledger, then of course need to do something about it lar. if small amount, then u may leave it as it is....or else u can check with your hr first as suggested by someone here.
*
fully understand bro, that's how it is usually anyways.

less than 200 la... not exactly small... but eh ya probably will just leave it sad.gif

thanks for highlighting this to me Saton666

the issue here is how they are giving me less money than the stated final amount (which already have another deduction from the final assessed amount) on my slip.

in summary:
i got deducted TWICE, one on the slip, and one on the actual amount received in my bank account.

example:
lhdn should pay me back 500
slip says i owe them or w/e BS "Tunggakan Cukai Termasuk Ansuran Sehingga 15/02/2015" is, so -200
= final amount to bank in = 300

however in my bank account, i received only rm100.

what. the. F.

This days, LHDN very crook already....

They go to the extend of telling employer to increase deduction then refuse to return the overpaid tax...

When you seek the refund, they start audit and intimidate you, then also dig out over 10 years tax, when by law can only go back 6 years...

They also purposely reduce the PCB amount so they no need return the overpaid tax...

Gomen no money also cannot do like tat mar.... if the tax how they count also is overpaid, then return lar...

This songlap culture is very teruk dy....
*
this.

i just called them and was told about this.
however there was no email/notification about this pcb reduced (claim my previous employer put extra while on their system should be lower)

then also claim i owe them money from 2010 because didn't receive my e filling (when i've been doing it since uh... quite sure it's before 2010?)

so 2010 owe them money, they deduct it from 2014? not 2011? shakehead.gif

I don't know what's wrong with those who complain above. LHDN staff are paid to collect tax and work for you. If you have any single slightest doubt, go ahead and confront/question them. Ask for full details. You are entitle for it.
If you think taking one day off or wasting time, then just to shut-up, swallow the money lost and not complain here. You should be complaining directly to LHDN.

Throw the ball at them. I've been there, done that. Bring my 7 years file to LHDN and go through one by one with them. Nothing to be scared. If LHDN wants to charge me extra RM10, I want to know where it comes from.

Side track recent case earlier this year, TNB back-charge me due to faulty meter. However, somewhere RM10+ was unaccountable, even after pro-rata. I ask for explanation. TNB don't bother.
I lodge complain to TNB, TNB CS explain, but halfway only. The other half cannot explain.
I lodge complain to Suruhan Jaya Tenaga. TNB call me again, still can't explain and try to close case. I complain again, case reopen. In the end send 4 staff to meet me (at my home, at my convenience) to explain. 2 more was outside. The senior explain to me in 10 minutes only. Understand and settle, I accept. Case can close. In fact, TNB back-charge me lower than suppose to, I told them, please, if TNB want, you go back and bill me, I am willing to pay. I'm not scare they audit my meter or install tracking. I use, I pay, I told them. The usage does not fluctuate by large margin or amount.
All the above are done using online website, email, then they call my mobile. It's not that inconvenient.

My point is, YOU have your right to question LHDN. If you want to chicken out, don't grumble or say different out-of-topic things like government no money, corruption, songlap, etc.

Every human make mistakes, me included during submission in the beginning of my working/tax file. Just admit humbly, ask for forgiveness, first time (unless you purposely evade or under declare). I have no issue of not getting fine/penalty, they will give you chance to fix or pay it, if it is a sincere beginner mistake.

tl;dr , wall of text -> goto Kopitiam

AGREED. hence why i called them today.

tomorrow need to bring my file etc and run through with the lady via phone.

I interacted with LHDN before and all their correspondence never give basis, figures all pluck don't know from where and simply tell you to pay up. For what they do laws that are not clear such as this sport equip can, that one cannot, then this medical can rebate, that cannot etc...

All this is use to blackmail tax payer to shut up and pay up. For god sake go after those clear cut wrong doing case and not disturb tax payer with all this disputable cases. Also if the employer didn't pay the PCB, please go after the employer and not ask the powerless tax payer to pay!! If LHDN with power fail to get the employer to pay how you expect the powerless employee to do anything.

I believe LHDN have gone overboard and overuse their power by demanding employer to increase deduction at their whimp, also now for those who do not submit form B or BE, their PCB deduction amount is assume final. Surely LHDNM will get employers to over deduct or silently increase the PCB amount without the masses realizing it.

I believe most tax payer have no problem paying up taxes if the amount is reasoned clearly and fairly, unfortunately there's too much abuse and corruption everywhere that make tax payers very disappointed with the tax paid.

this pretty much.
