Today I receive a letter (dated 5 May) from LHDN stating I owe them the amount in my YA2013 E-Filling ... but I paid the same amount via Maybank2U on 28 April.
Should I ignore the letter or what the next steps ?

QUOTE(Denise_D @ May 22 2014, 03:28 PM) dear all.... i have some question regarding the personal income tax.....hope any tax expert can give some advice... scenario : i will inherit some prop & cash from parent and i know currently there is no inheritance tax ( from parent to child) in malaysia. i am planning to give some portion about few hundred K back to my parent in the form of money. Eg transfer to their bank account. my question, after my parent receive the money, will they be subject to personal income tax? can i consider this as parent inherit from child?? thanks for all advice... You mean you inherit from Father and you give it back to your Mother ? Paying money to your parents is not taxable....

Maklumat lanjut sila layari www.hasil.gov.my. - UTUSAN ONLINE Great work by LHDN !!! That's how it should have been done many years ago.

QUOTE(Sichiri @ Aug 2 2014, 06:36 PM) Hi Experts, I wasn't sure where to post this, but since its income tax related, I've decided to try my luck. This month, I was given RM810 as a KPI bonus from my company. But when I saw the payslip, I was also charged with a RM523 employee tax at that month. Normally the employee tax I have to pay monthly is around RM60-100 When I confronted the PR, it was because the 'PCB' that month has hit the next tax category. I was given the attached E-PCB calculations as proof. (see attachment) Is this legal and is there any way to prevent it? Ask your company to "gift" the bonus as a gift worth RM810 ?

QUOTE(MUFTW @ Mar 4 2015, 02:46 PM) Hi, can I claim for computer tax relief for 2014 assessment if I bought the computer in year 2013 or year 2012 ? I dnt claim it last year as I lost the receipt, but found it now, can I do so ? I hvnt claim for any computer purchase in 3years time yet. Thanks You claim every 3 years for Computer Tax Relief If you claim in Year Assessment 2013 (i.e. bought in 2013), you can claim again for Year Assessment 2016 (i.e. bought in 2016)

QUOTE(yao_mou_gao_cho @ Mar 7 2015, 11:36 PM) Great That means, I can use the TP1 form to over-declare my expenses and reduce my PCB to a very low amount. At the end of the day, I can submit my e-filling to pay the exact amount of tax that I should pay. This would avoid the upfront payment (PCB) which does not earn any interest!! that's what smart tax-payer would do

QUOTE(kart @ Mar 8 2015, 10:08 PM) 1) Does a full blood test constitute a full medical examination, and can be claimed as "Pemeriksaan perubatan penuh atas diri sendiri"? 2) Assume the full blood test has been fully paid with the medical insurance card from my company. Can I still claim the cost of the full blood test as tax relief in "Pemeriksaan perubatan penuh atas diri sendiri"? Thank you for the advice. 2) Nope.
