Hey there. Nice to meet y'all.

I've got some inquiries, and I'd appreciate any help possible. Thanks in advance.

I used to play this card game, years back though, since 1st Generation. I stopped around the time the first english packs were sold in Malaysia, "Legend of Blue-Eyes" or something like that. Yeah, it's been years, and I recently felt like picking the game up again... and found out the drastic new releases and all that.

After looking into the new stuff, and with my old deck and cards gone, I thought I'd go to the usual spots where I got my cards to get a new set only to find out some shops have closed down and many have become more focused on other card games such as that Magic Gathering thing.

Thinking that maybe Yu-Gi-Oh! had completely died down, I tried to find out places where it'd still going on. After a night's surveillance, I found out that a shop called Gamers Arena in Times Square and Sungai Wang was still strongly focused on the game, as well as having several players.

I called up the shops to ask just in case, since I live rather far and wouldn't wanna go all the way there just to find out I couldn't get what I want. Eventhough so, the language barrier was rather restricting, and I only got part of the information I need...

So anyway, what I wanna ask is... is there anyone around here who frequents those shops? Some info on the packs and decks sold there would be helpful. Strangely, the owners say they're not stocking on some structure decks such as Dragon's Roar, Zombie Madness, Rise of the Dragon Lords and so on... and that the only structure deck they got is that 5D's 2008 Starter Deck thingy, but I need some more confirming information. Oh, and it's all OCG, Japanese... no where in KL/Subang/USJ sells TCG packs or decks?

Eventhough I used to play with Japanese cards, I'm not fluent with the language, and using the net for translations and memorizing them is not that helpful except for a certain few cards that I'm very familiar with.

Besides wanting to know what sort of decks and packs are sold in Gamers Arena, I would also like to know if there are any shops in the KL or Subang/USJ area which sells the official Yu-Gi-Oh! cards... Japanese is fine, but English would be nice, though I used to fancy the Japanese ones more before...

I found out that Wizards Trading in The Summit USJ seemed to have been closed down long, and a new trading card game shop called Decards Enterprise seems to sell a bit of the Japanese cards, though mostly focused on that other game. Is there anywhere else? In Summit, or like in Sunway Pyramid or anything, that sells official Yu-Gi-Oh! packs and decks?

A summary of the questions in this long post of mine:
1) Anywhere in KL/Subang/USJ I can buy official Japanese/English packs and decks?
2) What structure decks and booster packs are available in Gamers Arena?
3) Any other shops in The Summit USJ or Sunway Pyramid that sells the official decks and packs?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks much again in advance.

Added on September 30, 2008, 1:09 pmNo one visits this thread anymore?

Anyway, if anyone still comes about this thread who knows if there's any shop in KL/USJ/Sunway area that still sells the japanese Structure Deck
Revival of the Great Dragon, do let me know. Most shops I checked just got the 2008 Starter Decks.

Thanks in advance.

Happy New Year guys!

QUOTE(Riflic Rider @ Oct 2 2008, 04:28 PM)
As long as it's not too old, they do sell them. But what I meant are those japanese cards.I heard that heard that asian english version hv stop printing and etc,not sure cz i only play jp cards.
Oh, I see, that's cool. I went there about a week ago, nice to see there are people that still play the game. Playing Japanese here as well, but have no idea how to read Japanese, haha. Have to remember what the card effects are...

Seems a lot of people play in Sungai Wang Gamers Arena... how often do you guys go there? Weekends? Ugh, living so far away is hard... but better and cheaper than places that sell some cards, like Sunway Pyramid... I went to check the price there, one shop sells Structure Decks for RM119, crazy... booster packs also so expensive...

Does Gamers Arena have a good stock of new booster boxes? I'm intending to buy some to get a good amount of cards. Would be terrible if I went all the way there just to find out they're out of stock, ugh... Is there any additional cost to pre-order or "book", if we can?

Oh, if there's anyone going there anytime soon, I'd appreciate it if you could help me check out the prices a bit:
1) Duelist Pack
2) Duelist Pack Box
3) Booster Pack
4) Booster Pack Box

Thanks much in advance, I'd appreciate any help. I think a normal booster pack there costs about RM7 to RM8 right? I can't remember...

QUOTE(kofan @ Jan 12 2009, 08:37 PM)
hihi...i was wondering wad is the rules and regulation to play tis game. i quit since 1st gen so i not sure wad is the current rule =.= the show nowadays so confusing. btw ocg is using english card or japenese card. thanks in advance ^ ^
Same here, just recently getting back into the game. Not that hard to get used to again though, it's pretty much the same rules as before, but with a lotta new type of cards. Hm, I think OCG mainly uses Japanese cards, I never really saw anyone play the Asian-English ones.

Anyway, happy holidays, and Happy Chinese New Year to the chinese duelists... Gong Xi Fa Chai! (still got 1 week actually, but bleh... xD)

For the price
1)duelist pack = rm8
2)duelist pack box =Rm 110
3)booster pack = rm8
4)booster pack box =rm210 (can nego with seller there, can get at lowest rm180)

icon_rolleyes.gif
Hey dinzmalayneum! Thanks again for your replies!

Wow, one box so expensive, ugh... If I remember correctly, duelist box got 15 packs and booster box got 30 packs, right? The hope of getting the cards I want seems less now... time to save money, gah...

Do you know about Limited Edition Packs? I think there's about 4 or 5 cards in the whole set only, but more expensive than normal booster. Does Gamers Arena still sell those packs? If they still got, any idea how much is one? Thanks again in advance, appreciate your help a lot. Happy holidays!

Limited pack was quite exp, the LE 12 i saw last time in game arena was rm 150-200 per pack.... it's quite exp. but if u know som 1 can get from JPN, u can get it with a much lower price....

hihi....
Wow... RM150 to 200 per pack? So expensive! Ugh...

Oh yeah, does anyone know roughly how many percent chance to get certain rarities in a pack? I saw on the internet that TCG packs have like 1/5 chance to get Super Rare, 1/12 chance to get Ultra Rare and have like 1 Holographic Rare in 36 booster boxes. Not sure about OCG... any help appreciated, thanks again in advance!

Thought of wanna buy one booster box to try get Holographic Rare, but now I think the chances are too small... somemore a lot of the cards I don't really need or want. Maybe I'll just buy a duelist box, cheaper and easier to get the cards I want. Any opinions? Thanks again!

Wah, one box approx 6 to 7 only? Think I have to wait for CNY ang pao already, lol... R count or not? Is the name holo only, image not holo... 6 to 7 holo in one box, same as duelist box?

Who here frequently goes to Gamers Arena? Wonder if it's open during CNY, haha...

Oh yeah, how much is one Gold Series pack? I checked some random shop, they sell one pack RM18... ugh, 300 yen is about RM13 only, they wanna untung so much. Lol...

Eh, oh yeah... forgot about that, normally overseas postage quite a lot... now Pos Laju between states also about RM6 already, haha...

By the way, how much is a single Dragon's Mirror and Kokuendan worth? The expert edition packs got so many cards, dunno must buy how many only to get one... if I remember correctly, the price for an expert edition pack or box is a lot more expensive than normal booster right?

Also, any way to get Duelist Pack 2? The one with the Armed Dragon series... trying to get some, but unable to find any, can't find any singles as well... and I think it's going to cost me a lot more if I'm trying to get them with Expert Edition Volume.4, lol...

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance!

is kl have a card seller shop..?
can anyone pls gv me more information..?
Gamers Arena sells Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG booster packs, structure decks, as well as single cards along with other card games.

Gamers Arena is located on the 6th floor of the Sungai Wang Plaza, it's kinda near a corner, right next to a wall of graffiti. Shouldn't be too hard to notice.

I'm not sure where the one in Times Square is located, haven't been there yet.

where r u both play yugioh usually?
is the garena always full with player..?
is yugioh card battle still famous like last time...?cause in kuantan now not much player left and most of them i think they"retired" dy..hehe
Hm, I'm also recently getting back into the game after a long period of "retirement". At the moment, just playing among friends and relatives near my area. Once I find a proper and constant transport to KL, I would probably frequent Gamers Arena then.

Well, not sure if it was like last time... but there are still people playing, if you go at the right time. I saw quite a large number of people dueling with each other for the past few times I went there. Gamers Arena also hosts competitions every Saturday and Sunday I think.

would u mind to gv me ur msn or any contact number ??
u also didnt play for a long time 2 ?
wat version is ur deck ? japanese or english??
i also wan to play again but my deck all sold to ppl liao..
only the bad guy dark magician left now..in my wallet..
do u sold any card too??
I don't mind, I guess. Check my profile, I think I should have my MSN contact and stuff updated in a while or so.

Yep, I started playing when it first came out. I stopped shortly after some english cards were released here. Now I'm getting back into the game, despite the inconvenience of the distance between my home and the place people usually go.

I play with OCG cards, in other words, japanese. I don't really like the english ones, especially the TCG ones, since most of the time names and images are altered, changed or mistranslated. It's not that bad though with japanese cards, if you have the heart to get into the game, the language barrier is no obstacle. Haha...

yeah .. u r rite with tat...
last time when i was a player too i can able 2 read the effect of the card i never know ...quite amazing...haha
Also 1 more...the same card with diferrent language version like japanese and english have their different value...
Japanese version is more expansive than the english 1 for the same card...
Misaki Ryou ..u built ur deck is based on wat?? destruction or ...?? wat race of monster u prefer?? im very curious wat kinda of deck u use???
R u actually a girl?? Is seldom to see a girl player but i know 1 near my house...haha
Actually, it depends on which type of card. Certain cards are only available at certain rarities in the TCG and OCG, like Dark Armed Dragon is a Rare in the OCG but a Secret Rare in the TCG. Also recently the 9-card TCG packs have 6 Common, 1 Rare, and 1 higher-than-Rare rarity card, unless I'm misinformed.

Err, I dunno... I like to construct many different decks that suits any play-style, but I guess I like Dragon-type monsters more. Haha, no, I'm not actually a girl... but yeah, there are usually more male duelists than females.

Has anyone been to Gamers Arena lately? Need some info on whether are they still stocking the Gold Series and Anniversary Packs, as well as the pricing. This minor card game shop I've been says it's out print already, but it was just released on the 17th of January 2009! I don't think it's a limited edition as well, is it? Any confirmation appreciated, thanks much in advance!

TCG was 9 card per pack, like OCG, rare is comfirm in the pack, other rarity(SR, UR, SCR or GR) depends on ur luck like OCG....

BTW, i like the DAD in tcg so much, is SCR 1, but is exp, like 75USD above. for the 1st ed 1....
*
not really, i bought a pack of crossroads of chaos OCG and all i got was commons.
Unlikely, unless you saw the last card wrongly or it's a mishap in the production lines.

I'm not sure since when, but I'm sure that OCG packs from Phantom Darkness to the latest packs have a confirmed Rare among the other cards, unless there's a higher than Super Rare in the pack. I bought tons of Phantom Darkness packs and a The Duelist Genesis box, and I'm pretty sure cards with a silver name is Rare, since there's always one in every pack unless the pack has an Ultra Rare or above. On a different topic, it really sucks to buy a whole booster box and not get a certain Common card you want from it, ugh...

The "structure" of OCG packs is currently like this:

1st card: Common
2nd card: Common
3rd card: Common
4th card: Common
5th card: Rare

OR

1st card: Common
2nd card: Common
3rd card: Common
4th card: Super Rare
5th card: Rare

OR

1st card: Common
2nd card: Common
3rd card: Common
4th card: Common
5th card: Ultra Rare / Ultimate Rare

From my experience opening packs, it's confirmed to be so. I'm note sure how Secret Rares and Holographic Rares appear in packs, but I think it should be similar to the Ultra Rare and Ultimate Rare ones. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Also, still looking for some information on the Gold Series' availability and price in Gamers Arena, thanks again in advance.

i dont know about garena, but midvalley megamall sells gold series(rm18/p) and other packs as well, normal packs is rm8, 300yen packs are rm18.

just bought a yusei pack for rm8, pulled out a tuning supporter UR and turbo warrior rare and junk warrior common. was hoping stardust though T.T

what is the value of turbo warrior ultra rare/rare and junk warrior?
Hm, I'm not too sure of the value of cards, but to my knowing... Ultra Rare Turbo Warrior from the Crossroads of Chaos packs are around RM30 to 40, I think... Rare from the Duelist Pack is so much more less, maybe RM10? Common Junk Warrior from the Duelist Pack is probably much less, since well, it's Common and easy to get I guess.

Usually cards from the Duelist Packs that can be gotten from other packs are much less in value since they are of a lower rarity and easier to get in the small card pool. For example, the Duelist Pack has a total of 30 different cards, and only 7 different type of Rares making it rather easy to get Turbo Warrior. The Crossroads of Chaos pack though, has 80 different cards including Ultimate Rare reprints, and only 5 different Ultra Rares one being Turbo Warrior. The chances of getting an Ultra Rare in a pack is approximately 4%, though it's not confirmed. What I can confirm is that in a box of 30 packs, there's an average of 2 to 3 Ultra Rares.

By the way, planning to sell that Tuning Supporter to me? If it's still in perfect condition as it is when it came out of the pack that is, I'm a bit picky but I can manage, haha... I bought a whole darn Duelist Pack box and the only Ultra Rare I got was Arms Aid, and three other Super Rares. Do notify me if you're willing to sell or trade that Tuning Supporter though, I prefer to get it for a good price than buy a whole box and not get it again, haha...

wow, i guess you are rich, buying a box of duelist packs  rolleyes.gif
how much does a booster box costs? and not all cards are in? i thought all cards will be inside, since 30 packs per box, 5 cards per pack, 80 different cards in normal boosters.
would love to sell or trade, only that i'm still young and i can't go and meet strangers outside, or my dad will kill me, LOL . How much is that tuning supporter's value anyways, seems useless, only can draw 1 card...
btw, where do you live?

oh yeah, mind to estimate the value of Montage Dragon(SR) and Red Demon Dragon/Buster(UR)?
Noooooo, I'm not rich, haha... that booster box was a once in a blue moon thing, since well, after CNY there's Ang Pao... tongue.gif

A booster box is darn expensive... normal price goes for RM210 per box, I had to haggle and bargain like crazy to get the price down as much as possible... in the end, a simple COMMON card that I wanted wasn't in that darn box of 30 packs... I never wanna do it again, that's why I prefer to buy off people now, haha... by the way, a Duelist Pack box has 15 packs per box, and goes for RM110 a box normal price.

Nope, not all cards are in it. As of my personal experience, buying a whole box totalling to 150 cards, it's possible to not even get a certain Common in the whole set. The Common cards are randomly inserted, sometimes fewer in a box, sometimes too many. There are also Normal Rares, which are actually Common cards but are as hard to find as Ultra Rares. From that The Duelist Genesis box I bought, I only got 3 Super Rares, 2 Ultra Rares, and 1 Ultimate Rare. I guess the overall ratio of holofoil cards in a box is average 6 to 7, but sometimes less for those cacat-ed boxes, haha...

Aw, darn... I just left Tuning Supporter and Limiter Break to complete the Duelist Pack set... would be really nice if we could trade. Just a quick meet up, a hey nice to meet'cha, transfer item/cash, and off we go, haha... tongue.gif

Tuning Supporter... maybe RM20 to RM30? Though if you're willing to sell, gimme a good price yeah? Haha... Tuning Supporter can also be treated as a Level 2 instead of 1 when used as a Synchro Summon Material, so it makes it more flexible to Synchro Summon.

I live somewhere near Shah Alam, actually, it's much closer to Sunway and Subang... but it's a rather isolated and quiet place. What about you?

Montage Dragon should be RM20 to RM30... Red Demons Dragon/Buster (UR) is still new, probably around RM50 to RM60 to my knowledge.

Oh, haha, I see... ah well, nevermind then...

Hm, by the way, which shop in Mid Valley sold the cards? Anime Tech? Comics Mart? Think I'll go check it out one day.

Yeah, what he says about the distributors is true... but careful, some distributors get their goods via agents, meaning they might have slightly higher priced stuff.

Thanks. Haha, yeah, usually certain game shops sell some packs and decks. I guess it's okay if they're at the right price. Anyway, thanks again.

wow..y dun all the player buy in a bulk is easier..
or u find about 10 ++ person togther to buy the card is better...
did kl have a place tat really sell card , booster or even supply us the place to play card game...??
last time i went to kl also hard to find ...damn,,....
Haha, I once thought of that... buying in bulk, but then my wallet reminded me that I wasn't rich... also hard to get many people to buy together in that amount, since most prefer not to.

Yes, KL does have a place that sells single cards, booster packs and structure decks, as well functioning as a cozy little place to duel. It has a nice atmosphere, except when a buncha noisy people turns it as noisy as a market. Once I saw just these two guys playing some random card game, but it sounded like a full house stadium negara, lol! They even turned on some anime song while they play, kinda interesting.

Anyway, that place is known as Gamers Arena. There are two outlets, one in Sungai Wang Plaza, and another in Times Square. Like I said before, the one in Sungai Wang is on the 6th floor, basically the whole floor sells a lotta clothes, has a couple of video game shops, and a cyber cafe. It's located near a wall of graffiti, in a corner. The one in Times Square is just as naith said, next to Graffiti Toys, near Mc Donalds, on 5th Floor.

Anyway, I noticed that the very first page of this topic had the forbidden list, though is extremely outdated. I'm sure duelists know how and where to check it themselves, but I'll just post the latest one so far here anyway, for those who want to know.

haha..
well which location always full with ppl??
Well, I don't think there's a place that's "always" full with people, since I'm sure that people have their own lives and don't dedicate their entire life into a card game. Haha...

Raging Battle is out! I bought 1 pack but its RM8.50... Was hoping Earthbound God but got some useless Deformer monster instead T.T
OMG! Raging Battle?! Black Feather series! Earthbound Gods! Strong Wind Dragon, Explode Wing Dragon! Power Tool Dragon! New Synchro Monsters! Heck lots of interesting cards, haha... and as usual they still got Psychics and Deformers. A new card to counter Gladiator Beasts, G.B.Hunter! Red Demons Dragon's attack, Crimson Hell Flare! Wicked Reborn! Here comes the urge to buy again, lol... xD

This is awesome, but damn RM8.50 a pack? Was the rate increase in Yen that much, or just an excuse to earn a little extra money since it's a new pack? Gah... well, at least Konami's working on the Ancient Prophecy packs as well, another new pack coming out soon... not to mention the new Starter Deck 2009 that's coming out in March! Gonna have Road Synchron and Road Warrior in it.

misaki what deck u use?

wanna duel using YVD(computer program)?
Oh, hm... I don't really use a certain archtype or metagame deck. Mine is just a simple random deck with cards that I like in it, haha...

I'd really like to Duel, but I think I'll pass, I don't really get on the computer much unless I've some business to attend to. Thanks for the offer though.

By the way, do you know how much they sell a Gold Series pack in Mid Valley? I heard it stopped printing already, and this guy in this random shop sells one pack for RM22, ugh... bought 2 packs, and didn't even get the 2 Common cards I wanted.

Gold Series is sold out in the shop where I bought in Mid Valley... Mid Valley Jusco also sells booster packs, and the last time I went had a 15% discount on the packs, a japanese guy bought a whole box of gold series blink.gif , not even leaving 1 for me sad.gif  Last time they sell for RM18, and I bought 2 packs.. Near my school(Catholic high) theres a comic shop which sells single cards as well as boosters, and the price is also RM22. According to the boss, he told me all boosters increased price by the distributor, due to the increase of Japanese Yen.
Oh ya, i just bought a Raging Battle pack, and got Earthbound God Asalla Picu, Ultimate Rare! Yay for me.
Wow, sold out as well... yeah man, last time the guy sell RM17 per Gold Series pack, now everywhere I go, it's RM22... ugh, bought another 4 packs, too bad no Brionac at all. Oh well, guess I won't be spending on cards for a long while...

Wow, the hummingbird, haha. Nice, congrats!

is yugioh still active these days?
I guess it is, depending on where you are. The hard part is finding a convenient place duelists can go to.
