i used pangu to jailbreak my iphone 5 ios 8.1. It is working fine. Yesterday I saw some new updates in cydia for :

- cydia upgrade 1.1.18 (current 1.1.16)
- uikit 1.1.10
- taig 8.1.3-8.x untether

Should I install them or just ignore? I am not sure why cydia ask me to install taig as I used pangu previously to JB the phone.

You guys got it wrong. After you jailbreak, as long as you do not reboot then no need to re-jailbreak.

You only need to re-jailbreak after you reboot your phone.

The 7 days things is the yalu102 apps validity. Once you install yalu102 into your phone, that app will have 7 days before it expire.

So example:

1) you rebooted your phone after 2 days. You can run yalu again to re-jailbreak.
2) you rebooted your phone after 10 days. You need to use cydiaimpacter again to install yalu and then re-jailbreak.
3) you did not reboot your phone for 50 days. Your jailbreak will still work and no need to do anything.

Got it?

BTW..some more info for those who are interested:
- when doing yalu jailbreak. Sometimes it will fail. Certain people need to run like 3-4 times only it will be successful. As for me, when I try to re-jailbreak, it took me like 7 tries still fail. Then I re-install yalu and succeed only after attempt number 3.
- cydia impactor creator said they manage to find a method where the yalu app will not expire anymore. Pending them to sort out any bugs and releasing soon.
- before you install any jailbreak apps, go check for the compatibility first. Save you a lot of problem.

nope. works fine on my jb iphone. For app store, maybe it is due to the occasional slowness with connection to apple. This happens very often which is problem with TM. As for cydia, you need to remove sources that are slow or dead. Apart from that, I don't notice any slowness.

wow i never heard of zjailbreak. If xisan did not confirm that it is a true jailbreak, I would be sure it is one of those fake jailbreak app.

However, looking at that site, it felt dodgy to me. Looks like they use some sort of developer mode to mask as jailbreak. I still feel that it is not TRUE jailbreak. I wouldn't touch it even if I am desperate for jailbreak.

BTW...activator! Yeah..definitely the number one reason why I user jailbreak.

if you factory reset the phone, how can the phone upgrade the firmware also? Firmware cannot come from sky. Err.. i mean cannot suddenly appear in your phone and allow you to update.

the new icons is only from ios10 but i am unaware that the receiver will get ?. Didn't notice that in my ios 9 phone. But if not mistaken, yeah..there is a jailbreak app that can add those emoticons for you. Or perhaps you can try adding google keyboard which support a lot of emoticons.

what version are you using with ios 10? I can see version 38 and version 41. But version 38 is in the compatible list....so not sure which one to install...

i think 9.3.3 have another jailbreak which is better. It's untethered pangu. Use that instead as it is more stable and work better.

But yeah, I would assume pangu jb is more stable cause you can re-jb from their website everytime you reboot. Much easier than yalu.

Try this:

yeah! activator is the best jailbreak app. Even rooted android does not have anything as good. There are IFTTT and similar close but they are nowhere near as good as activator and even some features not there. My fav activator feature is, auto switching between wifi and mobile data. So it save my battery a lot when I am in environment with wifi.

eh..youtube apps already support downloading the videos. Not as good as those jailbreak ones but i guess better than nothing.

good news...jailbreak 10.3.1 might be coming....

i was like you before as well. But no choice already. IOS is getting harder and harder to jailbreak. Getting semi-tethered is already very hard let alone full untethered. I think it is really worth it because semi-tethered is still working great. Only problem is when reboot the phone. After using this yalu jailbreak for couple of months, I only rebooted my phone for 5 times and all 5 is due to crashing of the camera jailbreak apps that I added. Since removing that app, no more reboot issue for me. Enjoying jailbreak now and it is great! The good thing is even after reboot and when the jailbreak is gone, i can still use my phone like normal. Just that jailbreak stuffs doesn't work. So it is really not an issue.

yes..you can save the blobs if you want. There are no method to restore to old ios version now using shsh blobs. However, who know maybe in the future it is possible. So save them if you don't mind the hassle.

no jb needed for this. Just use icloud. Setup your icloud and select all the app data you want to backup to icloud. It only backup the data. Then when you boot up ip7, just specify to restore from icloud and it will automatically re-install the app and restore the data.

you mean cydia extender that will automatically re-sign the cert? I am not aware of new yalu that can resign by itself.

yes it can. The official backup method using itunes and icloud only backup the data. There are no system files so it is not problem if IOS version is different.
