Hi !!

Can somene give me a brief information about Business Managent Consultant in what they do and huw much is their sallary . I would also like to knoe the pros and cons of being a software engineer and B.M.Consultant !

I am planning to do S.E or Buisness Computing but specialism in Management. I googled it but dun seem to get and good results .

So any1 out there who knoes the advantages and disadvatages plzz post em in this topic as it will help a soul decide his future

software engineer... do you want to compete with the hundreds of millions of chinese and indians? lets face it, se skills are becoming more and more of a commodity. well, that's my POV anyway.

I just resigned as a senior system engineer, my past job is a software engineer and my current position is senior analyst programmer. As you can see that my position keep changing, but what I am doing is the same. So, my next promote position will either be System Analyst? or Senior System Engineer to System Consultant? Software Engineer to Team Leader. I think is basically depend on the company, some consultant is still doing technical stuff and they are not giving opportunity to manage something such as people a project.

I would suggest go for Business Managent Consultant, as those con and insult are just dealing with customer, company hire them to represent their company to serve customer base on their business knowledge, while system/software engineer are mostly deal with computer, those code, technical stuff. Depend on what you would like, u like dealing with ppl or computer? but certainly consultant will get higher paid.

system engineer and software engineer is all about programming 1 issit?
i fresh grad engineer suppose to be very weak in programming, programming for IT student 1 right?

im also a fresh grad enginner but i totally almost dunno bout programming wor..

I'm planning to do B.M.Consulting but i must start sumwhere basic first rit.. but i hav not basic knowledge in accounting since i am a science student is that ok ?

u ALOMST dunno bout programming and u gradtuate ?? lol mostly alot of programming from those jobs which is my POV

we study basic programming, but only every programming language in only 1 sem, c, java, microprosessor etc. 1 sem is like 3-4 months.
1 sem take 4-5 subjects, where got time focus on programming.

if you wan to work in semicon MNC then u take software engineering if you wish to work in consulting firm better take another 1.... by the way depends on where you wana work.... PG/KL or other place ??

So don give urself too much excuse

If you want you can try out Management Strategy consulting in firms such as McKinsey, Boston Consultancy and Arthur D Little. Pay for fresh grads average from RM4k to RM7k.
