Yes it is true, Altis don't need to change CVT fluid unless ECU indicate change required.

They have the proper device to check whether CVT fluid change is required. smile.gif

Genuine Toyota CVT fluid RM135, imported by UMW Toyota from Toyota Japan.

You can get it from Wing Hin Auto Supplies / Vanli or ST Auto. Those are the authorised dealer for toyota genuine parts.

But if SC, do no how much they charge.

RM135 is in 4 liter packaging.

But if the workshop done the gearbox flushing, they need at least 8 liters to flush the current fluid, if not mistaken.

My Toyota Wish (new facelift) used CVT gearbox. Coz the manual every thing in Japanese, am guessing in the manual that the CVT interval change is every 30K km.

Nothing is forever. Toyota SC bullshit on my Vios ATF WS is so long life only need to change on 100k km (since bought).

Of course I changed it on the 1st 10k km on request (still bright pink). Then afterward I blindly follow TSC advice. On 80k km+, I felt uneasy and do ATF change (and the usual service) outside of TSC and guess what, that pink ATF WS is black like shit and muddy and darker than my engine oil, ATF become WTF. Gods know what have been damaged in there...

Your CVTF, max duration 40k km. Better to be in 20k~30k km. CVT is more sensitive and need the micro rubblet (they are available only in CVTF) to be there. If those rubblet brokedown (wear & tear), you will have permanent dmg on the CVT GB.

Honda or Not honda... CVT is CVT.... it runs very hot and we are in a hot weather country... yeah Toyota is much more superior CVT... try talk to Nissan X-CVT... they don't even take risk!!! same with mitsu CVT... all manufacturer don't take risk on CVT cause it is expensive.... maybe toyota driver more cash rich can donate to UMW... yeah good luck

If a TSC mess up their own when changing CVTF, means they are no better than 'outside' aside for not voiding the warranty.

Not sure what mistake they did. SC keep told me the GB is sealed.

Mind you I claim my CVT on 80K due to really weird and loud whining noise, engineer from KL came over to diagnose and approved to swap one.

katijar : Yes. That's why I try to find another SC where I can change CVT fluid

any how we need send the car to SC for the to check what CVT fluid we use then can change it. The SC told me they no keep the CVT fluid, scare mix up.

also agree with you, the CVT can loud whining noise but no broken.
from they record, only ten + unit CVT gear box cliam at this moment, all is due to loud whining noise but still can function well.

Should be not so worry about this mix up issue, you go/call in to the SC, find the a guy name Mr Ho, he will explain to you.
I can explain to you, we also do not know how to check it.
you need send the car to the SC then they will let you know it.
The GB number or …(forget liao) will tell the SC using which grade fluid.

I could only find one type of CVT F from Toyota with part number 08886-02105. Either the Prai TSC confused with ATF WS (the 4spd dino box) Altis (1.6) vs Super CVT-i Altis (1.8 & 2.0)...
