It is the drastic changes that he make or attempt to make. First, change team jersey colour, then sack the head of Recruitment and replaced by his son friend . He may have justification to sack Malky Mackay ... but to change club name? its a big no no... something like MU to Manchester Bear ........ it going to be riot at Old Trafford.

He is meddling in area where he is not supposed to.

I honestly have to wonder how VT became one of the richest men in Malaysia. I suspect its more due to connections than due to his actual business acumen.

Any idiot can see that Cardiff isn't likely to be popularly supported in Asia even if they changed their jersey and emblem. There are already plenty of popular clubs with red colors around with the most prominent being MU, Liverpool, and Arsenal. The dragon might gain them some...actually, no. The club needs to have developed a winning history first.

He upset the club's current fans with the move, and for what? How many jerseys has Cardiff sold in Asia as a result? How many football fans have you seen wearing the red Malaysia jersey?

tbf, Tony did well as a chairman. only that Mark Hughes failed him for buying too many players and fail to make them work as a team. Remy, Granero, Park J.S., Samba and the most outrageous, Julio Cesar. all of them are good players and should have kept the team in BPL but Hughes don't know how to work with them.

probably tony fernandes. QPR is still in top 3 of championship (1 step below BPL) and Cardiff is 1 point above relegation-threatened clubs.

with any luck QPR under harry redknapp will get 1 slot of the promoted clubs while Cardiff might be relegated back if sunderland, fulham or crystal palace get their act together just in time....

Blackburn is a lost cause, the best hope for Blackburn fans is another rich guy with too much money buy the rovers off venky's and do a slow rebuild.

sorry shebby, guess not all pundits can be successful, so the adage that "those who can, do. those who can't, criticize" is true in your case....

and the brits returned the favour in kind by denying his son's friend a work permit to work at the club.

vincent tan needs to realize that this is not Malaysia where he can get anything done because he's some chinaman crony....

tony did what is required of a good club chairman: sit back and let the pros do their jobs.

that's why I wondered why Vincent tan took over from his 'front man' TG chan. I recall it was TG chan who turned around the club from a championship midpack team into serious contenders culminating with the 2012 carling cup final and being last season's champions....

maybe he smelled success too early?
