I'm currently having this dilemma whether to take CPA or MICPA-ICAA.

Also, since MICPA-ICAA is tougher, I was wondering if those who took it find it difficult to cope while working in the audit line?

The word "dilemma" has been misused, if not abused, all the time by Malaysians. Here is why. The definition of dilemma is:

di·lem·ma
- A situation that requires a choice between options that are or seem equally unfavorable or mutually exclusive
- A dilemma is a problem offering two possibilities, neither of which is practically acceptable.

Having to decide to take CPA or MICPA-ICAA is not a dilemma. You just need to decide which path to go and off you go. Either path has favorable outcomes. Likewise, people would post in this forum having to choose company A or company B and call it a dilemma. Again, that is not a dilemma. Joining either company A or company B has it's own merits and favorable outcomes.

As to your question, all part time study requires discipline. Be prepared to give up your social life so that you can spend more time studying. A person who does his diligent work in his part time study will be able to cope with the coursework. The pros of MICPA-ICAA is you get the CA, Australia designation that may open doors for you in Australia.
