It used to be Maybank VISA/MC for many years until August last year. I was in Seoul November and December last year and surprisingly HSBC MC gave me the lowest exchange rate then. I did try Citibank VISA too and the exchange rate was slightly higher than Maybank VISA/MC.

Ever since Maybank revised the admin fee for transaction made in foreign currency, cash is probably cheaper now. However, it depends on the cash exchange rate too. The exchange rate quoted by Money Master Mid-Valley for MYR/KRW now is RM3.13 = KRW1,000. But over here in Kota Kinabalu, money changers are selling KRW1,000 for RM3.06. So if you can buy your KRW at RM3.06, then i'm absolute certain cash is definitely better.

Are you serious ? Standard of living in Korea is far higher than that of ours. Ours is... well... jaguh kampunglah

Anyway, normally a very simple stew tofu kimchi soup with rice alone will already cost you KRW4,500 (RM14.40). While a bowl of beef with rice will cost you KRW6,500 (RM20.80). These are just the very simple meal.

You guys should also try this Kyochon Chicken Wings in Korea. They have just opened a branch at 1U last year but the taste is different. The real Kyochon Chicken Wings are much better!

The winter wear can get very cheap when there's a sale. Or may be some instant noodles ? There is one particular instant noodles that i like, it is quite spicy but taste very good. If i'm not mistaken, the brand is nongshim (seafood flavor). You may also look for this potato chips. Look for the one with this big hanja (漢字) letter > 美 printed on the front of the packaging. It comes in original flavor and also onions. I like it as it is not oily.
