Hi, just booked flight ticket for KL - Busan , Seoul - KL from Dec 12 - Dec 20.
Will be travelling with my wife. We took the flight to Busan then from Busan to Jeju. Planned to stay in Jeju for 3 days before taking the flight to Seoul. I notice that most recommend to take a tour package while in Jeju, may I know other than Yeha tours is there any other tour guides that you can recommend? |

Hi all, want to ask, has anyone one driven around Jeju island? I'll be going there in december and are planning to drive around Jeju island. Will be staying in You&I Guest house at Jeju City.
Could those that have experience driving around Jeju share the places they visited? |

Hi guys.. want to know..is having USD usefull in South Korea? I'm going there with my wife next month for a 9 Days trip. Was wondering if we need to change USD or not. Coz my relative just got back a few weeks ago & they said better get some USD as some of the things there will be rather cheap with USD.
Another .. planning to bring RM4k there just for foods & moving around u think it's enough for 2person? |

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Nov 12 2014, 02:09 PM) USD tends to have better exchange rate in Korea but since lately RM to USD is quite high Yup.. going there free & easy method.. will be going to jeju too. going there by free and easy method? does your RM4k including accommodation? it will be sufficient just for foods and moving around for 2 pax (excluding buying stuffs) but that is depends on what kind of transportation method you using and the food you eat So far all accommodation, local flights have been paid for. So the 4k is mainly for makan & moving around & buying stuff i think haha |

Dear all travellers,
Anyone travel to Korea for a winter skiing trip? I'll be there on early december for a 9 days trip covering Jeju 3D & Seoul 6D. Do u think it's ok for me to cut my seoul trip to 3days then spend another 3 days in Jisan for a skiing trip? Will it be very rush? Regards |

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Nov 17 2014, 04:21 PM) no rush but it depends on whether do you feel 3 days is enough for you to spend in Seoul or not hehe.. QUOTE(cynthusc @ Nov 18 2014, 12:14 PM) I will be in Korea for skiing. Early Dec, snow is usually manmade. You don't need three days in Jisan. Jisan can be done with day trip as it is about 40 mins away from Seoul. You can designate one day for skiing. Not rush at all. Thank you so much for the reply! After much consideration and discussion with my wife, we're thinking to go for a 1 day trip offered by this agency http://www.seoulcitytour.net/English/eng_menu_02_06.html It's 125,000 won perpax for a day trip to YongPyong Ski Resort. Is it worth it? |

QUOTE(cynthusc @ Nov 18 2014, 03:07 PM) The price does not include ski clothes which you need as without it you will get cold and wet. So that is an additional 20,000 won per person or 40,000 won for 2 pax. Total is 290,000 won. Plus food for the day (estimated at 100,000 won) then it comes to about 390,000 won. Is it an overnight trip? It does not include accomodation right? Its quite expensive. Hi dear, thanks for your clarification. Yes the trip doesn't include accomodation just a day trip. Please note that Yongpyong is 2 1/2 to 3 hours away from Seoul so if you take the tour and leave at 8 you will reach at 11am. There you will probably have about 2-3 hours to ski only and they will take you to the Ginseng place after lunch and then you will have to head back to Seoul. If you go on your own:- Subway from a Seoul station to Gabyeon Station for 2 - 2,300 won Bus from Dong Seoul Bus Terminal (opposite the Gabyeon Station) for 2 - 28,000 won Rental of Ski Equipment and Clothes for 2 with a discount coupon (you can get discount coupon from Plaza Korea in Menara Hap Seng or download online) - approx 60,000 won. Return Trip Taxi to Yongpyong Resort - 16,000 won or you can take free shuttle from Hwenggye Food for the day for 2 - 100,000 won Same way return trip to Seoul by bus and subway for 2 - 30,300 won The last bus is at around 8 pm from Hwenggye so you can spend at least 5 hours skiing and see other things and no need to go to Ginseng Centre. Total - 236,600 won You can save approx 150,000 won which is about RM480 If I were to go on my own, I am worry about the language barrier & also none of us know how to ski, so with a ski trainer with us I thought it's much better. Anyway will discuss with my wife and see if we're confident enough to go on our own |

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Nov 26 2014, 03:11 PM) the attraction i listed below on your Day 1 is at Seogwipo area. do you know you need to travel all the way there and back to Jeju-si? Yeah, for day 1 we plan to visit the western side of the island, the sites are some of the famous attraction in western side, other than this I'm not sure what other attractions.O’sulloc green tea Mount’ Sanbang Cheonjeyeon Waterfall Dinner (Black Pork Street ) on Day 2. do you plan to view sunrise from Seongsan Illchulbong? if yes, you need to go there first on Day 3. you plan to hike mt halla during winter time? Yeongsil - Nambyeok Bungijeom trail estimate around 3hrs each way and it's better to check the hiking time as time differ during winter season I dun think we can make it for the Sunrise, because either we stay in Jeju-si or Seogwipo we still need to drive 2hours + to Seongsan. For day 3 ya.. just a short hike up and come down back not planning to hike all the way. |

QUOTE(eric84cool @ Dec 30 2014, 12:03 AM) Back from Seoul + Jeju ......overall good trip but weather was really too cold for me. Went for ski at Yongpyong resort, recommended!! the kids were very cool when they ski pass through me as I'm still newbies and fell few times, butt pains like hell. Had to agree the weather is too cold, the first few days is ok coz first time experience cold weather after that is very torturing because no matter how much layer you wear.. your hand, feet & face will feel so cold till it numbs |

QUOTE(megane5439 @ Dec 30 2014, 04:00 PM) When to when you at Seoul .. ? Snowing or not when you are there ... ? Weather really so cold .. ? Me going next week 6th - 13th Jan ... but saw weather forecast this few day no snow ... so sad YongPyong is 1 of the best in Korea, not sure about Jisan though.I plan to go Jisan skii .. not sure as good as Yongpyong or not ... !!!! Any nice place introduce since you just back from there. Thanks Yes weather is very cold, wear thick gloves and leather boots if possible. Don't wear sports shoes if possible it's not suitable there as the wind will blow the cold wind into your feets Seoul is a bit unpredictable, and it won't have heavy snow like the rest of Korea. Even it snows it will be a while only. |
