FSP Hexa 500w should work. Maybe I should give the FSP Hexa 500w + FX 8350 + R9 270X combo a try.

I also have the FSP Raider 650w which in my opinion is WAY better than the Hexa 500w.

Oh dear! You are using an FX8350 on a motherboard that has only 4 phase or 4+1 phase VRM. Usually for 8-"core" AMD FX processors, recommend using motherboards with at least 8-phase VRMs. Not recommended to use low budget boards for this processor... 

Actually that AMD FX8350 can go further than that, up to 200W. And that that 125W is not its actual maximum wattage. Boards with inadequate VRMs (usually low budget ones) will throttle this processor to prevent the MOSFETs from blowing up. 

It's not that it's not compatible but rather the FX 8 series is very demanding on the power delivery and those lower end boards don't deliver it too well and you may encounter issues during the course of use.

As goldfries mentioned, the power demands of AMD FX processors are too great for low budget boards with inadequate VRMs to handle. That "125W" TDP assumes that the cores are running at normal loads, but when pushed to almost 100% loads then that TDP is broken and the motherboard will start throttling to prevent the VRMs from failing (which can cause slowdowns, crashes, weird behaviour, and even shutdowns). Here is a recent example: Computers -> Technical Support -> HELP: My New PC always crash when after Full Load, HELP!!! (Hardware) the problems occurs when using Prime95 (which pushes the cores to almost 100%) with an AMD FX6300 on a low budget board with 3-phase VRM only(!). As mentioned in that thread, my recommendation is at least 4-phase VRM for 4-"core" and 6-"core" AMD FX processors, and at least 8-phase VRM for 8-"core" AMD FX processors...

Yups, you may have to consider higher end 990FX boards. If you want to use those AMD FX 8-"core" processors, then cannot skimp on motherboard quality (unlike Intel systems).
