It's caused by HT, Super PI will only use one CPU.

oh dat means HT slows down some programs ler....like scanning for spywares also.....using 50% oni >.< But at least can do other stuffs at the same time ler.

No way The staffs also mentioned to me that it's a dual core proc with HT technology. So that answers your second question, dual core procs with HT technology are the Extreme Editions

Conroe doesnt have HT. It is an Extreme Edition Netburst proc. A conroe cant heat up until treshold temperature eventhough thermal paste is not applied.

ya... that was what i was trying to tell him... if conroe can heat till that kind of treshold it would not have loaded 3dmark! as for NFSMW it did loaded but then crashed

If it helps, you could reduce the # of history states and configure your scratch disks/mem in preferences (until you get your Conroe rig...)
