One simple try first is when in Waze, go to Settings > Sound > Play sound to phone speaker - Uncheck (Yes, uncheck)
If that does not work, then the solution is
1) Uninstall Waze
2) Delete the Waze folder from your phone memory (Device storage)
3) Reinstall Waze.
Important note : If you DID NOT set up a Waze user account (username + password) but are using the default account set up when you installed Waze, then you will lose all your data (eg favourites) when you uninstall Waze and delete the Waze file. However, if you had set up a Waze user account, then you can recover your favourites by signing on once you have reinstalled Waze
