Overheating problem really ruins everything. Calling and browsing really gets uncomfortable.

Anyone that managed to resolve this issue?

I don't use other accessories besides the ear phone and even with that, I rather use it only when necessary.

UPDATE: Just successfully flashed India's 4.4.2 ROM on my I9500. Runs like a charm and I've provided some pictures(excuse the potato qualities).

What's noticeable is the change to white status bar icons from the green tone, and some third-party apps(Cut the Rope, Trip Advisor, etc...). There are way more tricks up KK's sleeves but I don't have the time to test them all. Oh, and the camera button shortcut on phone lock screen.

It seemed that some devices benefited(Nexus 5) on the update while some didn't(HTC One). I'll post the screenshot of the battery after testing it for a day or so.

You can consider downloading the firmware of other regions(India, Russia) if you can't wait for the MY variant.

There's one more bug. Each time when you cold boot your device, you cannot enter the PIN number(if you set it on the device) until several seconds later which the prompt will be displayed or until you turn off, and then turn on the screen.

And I've not installed any apps for months just for Kitkat. Lots of disappointment.

And the battery drain that surfaced since 4.3 hasn't been ironed out at all.

No. The quad core is already hot enough if you were to run games/ intensive apps so unlocking all 8 will spell a mobo failure. There was an experiment on this and the phone was toast as a result.

You mean by touching the screen and waiting for the green box to appear?

That's strange, that didn't happen to mine. Are you using a custom ROM? Or you could try tweaking the camera settings?

Anyone knows whether is this a battery problem or the phone problem? Just happened 2 days ago:
- When charging while phone is off, the battery icon doesn't show occasionally
- Phone shuts down randomly(screen turns black and I've to reinsert the battery)

AFAIK, some ROMs are pre-rooted so all you have to do is to flash them via CWM.

Not necessarily the latest version is needed(mine's on 4.4.2), although you should do it to avoid some unwanted error/s.
