Problem with samsung is they try to flood the market in every segment and since they have a lot of devices, they then take forever to release updates. Also due to the bloatware, it requires more testing to ensure that their bloatware doesnt compromise much more performance with each update. This is why S3 will not get kitkat updates. 1 GB ram for them is not enough for kitkat + bloatware.

guys I need help urgently. For some reason, my s4 started to turn off it's screen again and again. even when I'm using it, it will just turn off it's screen itself. and sometimes the power off / restart menu will pop up. Anyone have any idea what's happening? I didn't drop it or anything. Already tried formatting but still the same. Help is much appreciated. Don't want to send to phone shop cause budget running low. =(

Your formatting means factory reset?

2 things i can see....

1. Could be your power button gone.
2. Try download FW, flash it and factory reset...

yeah. factory reset.

I think it's the power button that's causing the issue. tried knocking it numerous times to loosen it or un-stuck it but still it's forcing to reboot + power off.

any idea how much does it cost to replace one?

If not mistaken, if inner part spoiled you need to change the whole Mobo but if only the button should be less than RM100 or lesser..

My friend is using s4 and using digi internet postpaid i would like to know how install the set the settings for internet on her phone ? some mall went we go inside cant detect internet do you know why?

Just try to understand your problem..

1. You friend with S4 and subscribe to Digi Internet postpaid plan
2. Would like to know how to configure your phone to user the internet plan.
3. Some mall that you went can't detect internet.
4. You wanted to know why?

Let me try to answer you....

1. Configure you phone to connect to digi internet. Go to "Settinga" -> "More networks" -> "Mobile networks"-> "network Operators"...... select Digi

2. Check the Access point names and select the one with internet

3. Check "Mobile data"

4. Done...

5. Sometimes can't detect is because signal weak at that area....

is it possible to retrieve data from my S4 that is dead? i dropped my phone face first and there's a visible crack across the screen and all i see are just some pixels at the top of my phone and that's all.

is there any way to retrieve data (photos, etc) from the phone without actually turning it on? I didn't backup my phone (yes...this was very stupid of me).

No worries. Sammy will still sell. Lots of people don't know what an update is or think kitkat is really chocolate. heck... lots of ppl don't mind new devices with 4.2 on it and best part they don't know what 4.2 is. As for bloatware, lots of ppl just wanna turn the device on and chat, they don't care... hey, i know some aunties pay 2k for s5 and don't have data plan....

there are other important issues, like if go shopping complex can find cover or not. If phone slow, how much shop charge for a factory reset. lol...

Cost me about RM120. and if it's isn't the chip then it will cost much more I think.

As expected based on experience.... cause if FW problem... either FC, looping with samsung logo.. always went into recovery mood, auto reboot, no signal (some case), slow and etc...

When you said the reboot popup appear mostlikely is H/W problem..

FW / FC / H/w??? apa tu.

This is confirm hardware problem.

You would need to turn it on. Despite unable to see whats happening on the screen, u can just connect to pc and access ur files. Only problem i can think of is if u have locked ur phone(pin/password/pattern) then you would have to unlock first. What I would recommend is get a shock absorbing casing like otterbox or put tempered glass screen protector.

I agree. Shop people also very good at showing off all the pros of things to encourage people to buy more expensive stuff.
