If your phone status is custom 100% cannot but OTA but if still official you still can update using kies3.

Finally need to use the final trick after failed to settle my auto restart problem. One thing i noticed that this updates put in many new bloatwares and phone heating seems solved and feel smoother but network connection yet to know..

It maybe placebo effect but I've got gsam installed with temp alarm and it doesn't go off as much as b4 update.

Just checking if installing custom ROMs on the S4 will degrade the camera quality?

I can't seem to get the same quality of photos when i'm using a touchwhiz based rom and an AOSP based rom.

Somehow the touchwhiz based with stock samsung camera app always produces better quality photos than the AOSP. Is there a way around this?

Camera sensor doesnt change. Different camera apps have different image processing.

AFAIK, stock rom will always produce better image due to its better image processing algorithm. Stock camera can also be one of its main factor too.

It can be clearly seen when you install Google Camera on a stock Touchwiz rom. Compare the images captured from both stock camera and Google Camera. Stock camera beats Google Camera every single time.

Wrong, one should always stock if his or her main priority is camera. Nothing can beat stock camera as of now.

Why so ? Tbh S4 camera is good enough. Of course it cant be compared to L1020 (Carl Zeiss lens) or iOS (superior image processing algorithm) or the latter phone equiped with Optical Image Stabilizer.

But, do you really need all of those as an Average Joe user ? ( well, OIS is somehow neccessary in the future but oh well)

So no offense, you are pretty darn weird to like Cyanogenmod's camera more than Samsung's stock camera lol.

Well the reason why my Nexus 4 is back in its box now is because i wanted a better camera. Have not tried Cyanogen since version 3 i think back during the beta stages with my Nexus S. Will try later on. Camera quality ok compared to TW?

EDIT: Had the chance to play with the +one a couple of days back. The camera is really to die for. Its based on Cyanogen right? The algorithm still not as good compared to TW based?

TW rom camera are good, and i agreed ahodil's post said..

and 1+ still works fine and is better than nexus'es camera, [can't adjust the ISO, IMO]
