Even those retailers are forced to sell SG sets at SRP or higher because I suspect Sony is controlling the pricing since there is no difference in warranty now.

And if it is price controlled I doubt the price will go down any time soon if at all.

Yup, initially I was not happy it was stated SG set. Turns out it wasn't and it was MY set which was cheaper than Sony SRP. I believe many people jumped the gun in crucifying them.

I'm glad I stuck with them and they still managed to deliver on launch day itself as well compared to other resellers.

Gamers hideout sets are MY sets and warranty is covered for sure, you need not worry. Even on Asia playstation site GH one u and tropicana city are listed as places of purchase when you register your ps4.

Are you sure no PS+? My launch set kz bundle had the same freebies as those you get from Sony. 2 months free ps+ with rm 20 PSN cash voucher.

Ah I just looked back at the promo brochure, seems the PS+ offer was considered as "free gifts" for only those that pre-ordered.

Your set will still be eligible for the 90 days extra warranty though when you register online IIRC.

Yours must be left over preorder sets. GH as far as I know sold out on preorder sets. Most likely he bought a unit from the newer batch so no preorder freebies.

Not really. Those who bought from focus stores get those same freebies and PSN also.

Like I mentioned earlier since warranty is the same now ie. regional whether it is SG sets or MY sets retailers are forced to sell at SRP which is 1799. I believe the pricing is being controlled by Sony Malaysia and retailers are pressured to sell at the set retail price or face the consequences. I remember seeing Heavyarm's and Gamer Guild posting somewhere along to lines of "having to" increase the price to match Sony's.

But seriously, the price difference from previously is not that much of a difference also either way. If you can't even afford to top up just RM100 - RM200 then perhaps you should set your priorities straight and spend on other necessities instead of a gaming console.

Now even with AC4, Lego, NBA 2k14 and KZSF I am struggling to give each of them equal attention.

And I got them all a few weeks before launch day. Started playing smack on the 20th and still hardly finish 20% of each AC, KZ and Lego single player campaigns.

Quite surprised about the wifi issues.

My router is downstairs in the living room and I am upstairs at the other end of the house and my ps4 still gets approx 75% signal strength with 12-14 mb/s download and about 8-9 mb/s upload from my unifi 20mb line. And I am only using TM's standard router.

Probably some stuff interfering with your signals along the way?

That is why in future the things you want can preorder just preorder. Don't wait till the 11th hour. Early bird catches the worm.

Should be able to. Check your account what country and your game what region.

Just go to http://www.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/ and login your ps3 account. Then go account details there see which country.

If its not an R3 country just create a new MY account activate it in your PS4 and download the DLC. Then just log out and go back to your main account and play. Your main account should now be able to enjoy the DLC as well.

I am hearing that Sony Malaysia will only entertain your warranty claim if your set has this sticker and a valid invoice.

TBH all Malaysia sets has that black "regional warranty" sticker no matter you bought from focus stores or Sony itself. Purchase invoice can be your purchase receipt which will do IMO. Anyway no need to worry la your PS4 got problem only worry.

Your purchase receipt should be sufficient. Do note in point 1 it does say for warranty claims some sort of proof of purchase has to be provided ie. purchase invoice and like I mentioned, no problem its fine la got problem only worry.

Its better if you get from Sony itself since now Asia sets sold by retailers also the same price already. Buy from Sony store you can extend warranty and save yourself from any warranty fiasco.

If you are just looking for one and don't want to extend warranty get it from retailers who are Focus Stores like Gamers Hideout 1U or TCM. Safer when it comes to warranty.

Just get a basic set + killzone game.

The only difference is the box sleeve and previously preorder got some extras like 2 x 1 month PS+ and RM20 PSN money voucher. But that was an offer for preorder only. It will be hard to find a killzone bundle now IMO. And anyway the freebies are only worth like...RM50..? Inside the box sleeve its still a standard PS4 box....

Not worth the hassle of running around finding now lol.

Gamers Hideout is Asia set with regional warranty. Like I mentioned if you are not looking to extend warranty its fine if you buy from them. They are listed as a place of purchase in Malaysia even on asia.playstation.com website. But if you want to extend 2/3 years then no choice you gotta get it from Sony Malaysia.

Like I mentioned the 2 months ps+ and RM20 was preorder gifts. Your new KZ bundle might not have. Those normal sets during preorder also got 1 month ps+ free but people that bought the newer batch got nothing.

I mentioned 3 times already the difference is from Sony store you can extend warranty, focus store can't.

I skipped using the provided HDMI cable altogether since I have a couple of spare HDMIs I stocked up from my previous purchase.

Been using these on all my devices for as long as I can remember. Works like charm on every device that requires a HDMI cable so far. Using one for my PS4 as well.

I can't really remember for the ones I am using because I've got them for quite some time already but IIRC they are also about RM80 - RM100 more or less somewhere around there.

Contrast will no longer be free starting 7th of January so download it asap!
